mine too, however it's not considered a natural resource.

for natural resources, i think the amount of usable water is very small, and once you get into potable water, it's even less.

Water isn't possible without oxygen.

Water and air.

There is no shortage of air, but there sure is with water. This is going to become a much lager issue as it gets hotter and there is less and less water to go around.

but besides that - humans are a blink in the history of earth - one day they will die out like dinosaurs in the past - and earth will prevail (hopefully)

unless you believe god made us and the dinosaurs and we lived together - then i can't help

Interesting question, but depends : Valuable to who?

If you say People and all living things, then it helps narrow things down : Clean Air, Clean Water, Food, Atmosphere, Energy is what comes to mind.

No living thing can live without all of the above, except for those weird extremophiles or whatever they are called that live near sulphur vents and the like.

obviously the question pertains to what's valuable for human survival. planet earth doesn't need any resources to exist and the op certainly isn't worry about tadpoles or three-toes sloths or the metals required to assemble an iphone.

rogueteens 04-18-2016 01:36 PM

sunlight (or some kind of funny answer)

SilentKnight 04-18-2016 04:25 PM

Quite possibly in the future - lithium & graphite.

Spunky 04-18-2016 08:18 PM

Water by far.and it will continue for years to come as the need to clean potable water will increase

You can have oxygen without water, but you can't have water without oxygen. So the most valuable is oxygen, since without it there is nothing. Oxygen is an element, water is a compound made up of elements.

arock10 04-19-2016 04:07 AM

Value is based on supply and demand?

astalavistia 04-19-2016 12:46 PM

God! Oh sorry asked as natural resources. Of course H2O

brassmonkey 04-19-2016 12:51 PM

fresh air and water/food all are needed to live.

all of these are valuable, but then do plants not come into the equation, considering they create the oxygen.

There are too many equals to the valuable materials on earth.

The question of the thread is valuable resource, and plants aren't a resource, so maybe the sun, without the sun, we would have no life, no oxygen, no water, no nothing.

I'd say romeo's on the ball :thumbsup

first straight to insult, then a tight curve to weird analogy, long straight up a hill to more veiled insults, sliding around the downhill corner straight into OVERBLOWN HUBRIS...

yes 'resources' really only apply to humans, and we are in fact our greatest resource :2 cents:

The sun isn't an earth resource.

Mark I would have thought you would have learned this is school somewhere, animals do not use resources. animals live day to day or even beat to beat without concern for long-range goals and the needed resources..

you can nitpick about beavers building a damn but you know that would be just bullshit..

HUMANS use resources, HUMANS distribute, trade, sell, predict, dream and guard RESOURCES. not animals and trees okay?

so I stay with people as the most valuable recourse on earth

The first one I meant generally, the analogy is technically correct, in case the last one is true I really can't help and I know I'm awesome. Thanks.
