Job

canonical ?????

Guess I'm out

I thought I had a great vocabulary until I went to lunch with a grade school friend. He had worked for IBM & The Federal Reserve. He showed me a magazine write up about him.
I understood the words and terms, "the & and." It was something about customer centered concentric databases, or something like that.

I was just hoping he could help me with a simple web site.

Half of it is buzzwords. Mostly, it boils down to having a thorough knowledge of analytics and having some idea of what the latest iteration of google is looking for. Seeing where people hit your site and where from, and where they leave. Which streams convert.

Code optimization and social media management should probably be passed on to other people, imo.

Personally I liked it better when all I had to do was submit a site to yahoo, wait two days then figure out what to do with my new 10k daily uniques.

Yes canonical tagging is now mandatory in order to avoid duplicates. Basically , canonical tag tells google bot which version of your page is real and should receive seo juice.
For example, you could have domain.com/index.php but someone made a link to your site in form of domain.com/index.php?tracker=blabla so then you have two identical pages, hence the reason why you need to tell google how domain.com/index.php is real page.

I'll take it.

I'll need 120k + medical for my family and a relocation bonus. The nice thing is I know what I am doing and I'm worth it.
