I've been tinkering with digital painting the last month (pics)

I've always been inspired by the insane concept artists out there, and finally decided to really utilize my wacom cintiq and try to build a decent foundation.

So the last month I've been focusing on learning a variety of art related stuff, and made the following 7 pieces..

The first one is absolute garbage:

Disappointed with that attempt, I realized I needed to focus on more simple compositions..

A little bit better..

This one has a timelapse video of the process here:

Months ago I did these 2 pieces, both based on reference:

Fairly satisfied the results, but still a long way to go. The goal is to eventually get to this level:

Anyone else here dabble with digital art? (or traditional?)

I know a lot of voluntaryists online and figured I'd get my practice in while theming them around it.

Btw, I couldn't get the vimeo video to embed.. I tried wrapping it in [vimeo] brackets, but no luck.. ?

Great skill. You should make real paintings. That way it's unique, there's only 1. Can make alot of money from it.

Ty, that may be something I do in the future. Digital painting allows for massive fuck ups, layers and undo. Traditional painting not so much

Pretty good stuff....and the first one is my favorite. Art is subjective, as they say.

Photoshop is great, but if you really want to work with tools which respond in more "painterly" ways, you should look into the many digital paint programs out there. They're all dirt cheap and have tools created with artists and painters in mind.

true, i make cartoons, also with a wacom tablet... dont know how many times i use ctrl-z but its alot.

traditional paintings need more sketches and try outs. If i had your skills i would definitely try it out. A neighbor of mine is a painter, he makes big abstract paintings. His paintings go for at least a couple of thousand euros per painting.
