$10,000,000.00 Bong Hit !

In last nights NFL draft Laremy Tunsil was expected to be a top 1-4 pick. However minutes before the draft started a video of Laremy wearing a gas-mask while doing a bong hit appeared on his Twitter account.

At least two teams with top draft choice erased him from their top slot and he fell to #13 taken by the Miami Dolphins. About a 10 million dollar fall in earning potential.

His night only got worse as the person who hacked his account then proceeded to post copies of text's asking for money from his college coach, a direct violation of NCAA rules. Making matters even worse, blindsided by the accusation he admitted the money was for his mothers rent.

Someone sure had it out for this young man. It also shows again, how social media can fuck someone up.

Not for NCAA athletes or NFL players who want to pass a mandatory drug test.

Yeah, plus not sure it was legal in general at that time in that state. Just a troll post :winkwink:

Well, let's hope he wises up a bit and realizes that now that he's "made it" he has no friends left in the world.

Everybody becomes a scavenger.

I know the guy is happy as hell to sign with the Dolphins and will make life changing millions. However one of his "friends" cost him a lot of money for no reason.

The college coach payment story will have severe repercussions for his old school and really was a dick move by someone.

lagwagon 04-29-2016 09:49 AM

Damn. Someone must be pretty jealous.

Wasn't a dick move, they are breaking the rules and potentially laws. All the cheating in sports in running it.

They aren't breaking any laws.
That's the whole point of people complaining about the NCAA; their rules make you think it's a law.

There is nothing illegal about giving someone money.
The school gave the dude $100k in tuition but paying $500 of mom's rent is evil???

It's all a sad joke based on an old idea that athletes are dumb people for the rich and smart people to control.

And cheating has only made the sport better; get real.

All I'm thinkin' is - cool gas mask, dude.

kane 04-29-2016 07:56 PM

I don't understand the mentality of some of these athletes. This dude knows that pot is banned in the NFL and he knows he is likely going to be a high draft pick, but still can't resist getting high. Another example is Josh Gordon. He is one of the best receivers in the NFL and got himself banned for a full year because he kept testing positive for pot. He is working towards getting back for this upcoming season and once again tested positive for pot.

Personally I don't think they should test for it because it isn't a performance enhancing drug, but since they do I wonder what is wrong with some people who can't lay off the weed in exchange for millions of dollars to play a game.

RTP 04-29-2016 08:05 PM

Pretty sure this was his step-dad, who filed a lawsuit the day before the draft...

thanks mom!

Phoenix 04-29-2016 09:21 PM

Damn someone ws a dick. If you can smoke weed and still perform at that level who cares?

From what he said the video was from his High school days like 2 or 3 years before.. It's more of a case that if you ever make something of yourself.. someone will always have a skeleton from your younger days.. Jealousy is a bitch..

Spunky 04-29-2016 09:33 PM

Miami doesn't have a problem with it.just has to work harder to prove hes worth something.

Ah, I didn't know it was from back then. Pretty shitty thing for someone to do to him.

Or most likely they do have a problem, but think that benefits of getting #3 pick at #13 outweights the problem.

Are they getting bad PR for picking him?
If not - all the teams that did not pick him due to this should be biting their nails.

because no matter how 'safe' something (whatever it may be) is for 1 or 500 million people, for some it's an addiction. That's what addiction is... that's what is 'wrong' with them. Has nothing to do with mentality, or stupidity, or anything other than some people get addicted to shit that 95% of the rest of the world doesn't. Just my :2 cents: :thumbsup

One athlete fucks up = Athlete mentality (negative emphasis )

1,000,000 non-athletes fuck up exactly the same = we cool

Everybody can lose their employment by using drugs so why is it an "athlete mentality"?

OH; because the money is so big?
Yeah, everybody changes for the better with money on the line. :1orglaugh
This guy must be "2 1/2 Men" on his TV show.

Let's talk about the "TV actor mentality".
Were you able to create one for them too?

:winkwink:

I understand that many people can lose their job if they are drug tested and come up positive for weed. However, the money and the longevity of a career are the big things here. The average pro football player has a career that lasts 3.5 seasons long. Now a guy like Josh Gordon who is very good at the game could play longer so long as he doesn't get too many or too serious of injuries. But even then he may only have 8-10 years. He has a small window of time where he can earn an insane amount of money and he instead is choosing to smoke pot and throw millions of dollars away.

If he has an addiction, he should get help.

The difference between an "actor mentality" and an "athlete mentality" is that if both make bad choices when they are young and screw up their careers, the actor can make a comeback and still have a lifelong career. Once the football player hits his early 30's most teams won't even look at him and his career is over.
