Couple people? Even without looking at any stats anybody could guess that illegals killed MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more than couple people. Not counting every other type of crime.
Secondly - Crime is just one of the reasons, the main reason is that ILLEGALS are breaking the law of the country, anyone who does not have a problem with that is a traitor or said country. So yeah, that is the number 1 reason. You have to respect the law and if you want to come, do it legally.

1. Back in those days invading was the norm, every stronger army/nation tried to take territories and such. Pretty stupid to compare those times with these times.

2. It is not like invading was welcomed back then, but instead of deporting it was common to get killed instead. The fact that invaders won at those times does not change the fact that invaders were not welcomed neither then, nor today.

Nope, invaders were disliked back then and disliked now, it does not have any relevance to the fact of certain land being invaded some long time ago. (So in current example - the fact that current US terrain was invaded hundreds of years ago has 0 relevance to the fact that invaders are disliked there now).
