Latest Poll From Today: General Election Just Changed

Trump is now ahead of Hillary in the latest Rasmussen Poll out today:

Trump 41%, Clinton 39% - Rasmussen Reports?

:pimp

dyna mo 05-02-2016 05:03 PM

That's weird because according to certain gfyers, Trump is a loser since June.

crockett 05-02-2016 05:13 PM

Hopefully this will be the wake up call to Democrats to quit fucking over Bernie because,if they keep pumping up Hillary they will loose all the young voters.

Bernie is the guy drawing 20 & 30k supporters to his rallies not Hillary or even Trump.

Phoenix 05-02-2016 05:24 PM

Why is this poll valued? I ask because Crockett didn't attack the validity of the poll.

Maybe that is smart that Mr. trump is talking up Bernie (how he was treated unfairly etc). He is aiming for some leecher votes.

i guess it's time for more violence and hateful riots from the libtards. they tore it up pretty good here in Cali over the weekend since Trump is out this way.

violence and hate is OK when it's liberals doing the violence and hating to stop Trump.

I was very amused how little those riots were covered by the media.

good point. there were cop car(s) burned.

the unreal part is in realizing there's not been any Trumpkins rioting. but the media portrays them as the violent hateful ones.

Don't start sucking each others cocks just yet, Rasmussen got the last two elections wrong.

Which Polls Fared Best (and Worst) in the 2012 Presidential Race

For the second consecutive election ? the same was true in 2010 ? Rasmussen Reports polls had a statistical bias toward Republicans, overestimating Mr. Romney?s performance by about four percentage points, on average.

Rasmussen Polls Were Biased and Inaccurate; Quinnipiac, SurveyUSA Performed Strongly

Robbie 05-02-2016 06:28 PM

Obviously this time it's not working for the media and the establishment.

I can only wonder how much Trump would be in the lead if his own party hadn't turned on him.

Famous conservative George Will today said that it is the GOP's mission now to make sure that Trump LOSES to Hillary in all 50 states so that this will never happen again!

And conservative pundit Bill Crystal is calling for a third party so that Trump can't win the general election.

It's outrageous. And it shows that these people really have none of the ideals they claim they have.
They simply want the gravy train of money and their own importance and wealth to be protected at all costs.

The point is that Rasmussen had Hillary winning overwhelmingly up until NOW.

The polls are already changing and Trump hasn't even come after her yet. She's had an easy ride through the primaries with Sanders not really coming taking the gloves off. No negative campaign ads to speak of.

Trump has had over 50,000 negative ads run on him since last year.

My suspicion is that when Trump comes after Hillary with all her baggage...and the negative ads start to rain down on her...the election is going to change greatly.

So yes...everyone CAN start sucking each other's cocks because this is probably only the beginning of the bad news for Hillary. :love2suck

The other day you posted this and it was something I had not thought of before you posted it. Even those that believe Trump to be the devil have to consider this at least somewhat impressive. The global media, not just the United States, the global media has labeled this guy the antichrist since last June. His "own party" has laid down heavy money trying to get the guy. And yet here we are.

How can anyone look at that and not think "holy fuck."

Robbie 05-02-2016 06:41 PM

Yep, it's amazing. I've never seen any other candidate basically having to fight off the entire establishment of both ruling partys AND the media all at one time.

And yet he STILL is winning. Without all of those forces against him, he would probably be at 90% in the polls right now. lol

Horatio Caine 05-02-2016 06:54 PM

So next week when it goes back to Clinton's favor will it also "just change"? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I never attack the validity of polls because they are easy to manipulate. I take its worth for about nothing..

I based my opinion on my own thoughts of what I see. I won't vote for Hillary and I know young people that supports Sanders will not vote for her.

If you look at the non-polling articles on Rasmussen, it looks like any other conservative rag. Also, there's this..

Is Rasmussen Reports Biased? | FiveThirtyEight

Don't put any stock in what they say. If some reputable website with no political bias wants to say Trump is leading, then I'll believe that. But not these guys.

If Trump was leading, Five Thirty Eight would say so.

It's funny Robbie...only a small handful of polls have Trump with a slight lead, and you're ready to call it.

I know one person who likes Donald Trump (friend or family). Where are all these people bringing his numbers up?

Maybe if I lived near some trailer parks I'd see these mysterious "Trump supporters". By the way, the one person I know (wife's Uncle) who likes Trump is an old, grizzled, racist we try to have as little contact with as possible. Such a strange coincidence he likes Donald Trump.

Not to worry. Trump will be gone next week.

Same as every other week for the last 11 months.

The Republicans learned the hard way what happens when you underestimate the competition. Bizarre that the Democrats would risk the same defeat.

RealClearPolitics - Election 2016 - General Election: Trump vs. Clinton

What I'm saying is that this is the LATEST and first major poll that has shown this trend.

The Real Clear Politics isn't as recent as this one and as I understand it, it sort of averages out all the polling (which makes it overall more correct...but perhaps not as up to date yet).

As for Five Thirty Eight...a few days ago they had CRUZ winning Indiana handily. Now they just changed that (rather abruptly) to an estimate of Trump winning big in Indiana.

Polls are important and generally show what's happening. Sometimes they get some bad data.
Maybe that new Rasmussen poll is incorrect. But it's still the first time that any major respected poll has shown Trump winning over Clinton.

As for it being a "conservative rag"...on that point I have no idea. But if it is...then they certainly would NOT be trying to "help" Trump with fake polling.
In case you didn't notice the entire conservative movement of the Republican Party has been doing everything they can to "stop Trump".

They see him as a very liberal progressive New York Democrat in Republican clothing.

Just a couple of stages behind the Republicans when it comes to the reality of the movement that Trump represents.

Remember up until now the Democrats have been doing what the Republicans did at first: joked about it.
Now they have moved into the first stage: Denial

Up next: Anger

Then they will run through the same stages as the Republicans: Bargaining, Depression, and finally Acceptance.

And by then...just like with the Republicans, it will be too late for them.

IF he is the nominee it will be one hell of a battle. The tested conventional candidate with the historic edge, the first Woman President, against the Disruptinator, the ultimate middle finger to the establishment!

He overcame the haters! She overcame the haters! Who will triumph in this massive battle of wills and talent?

Will she cage him and crush him, or will he tear apart everything she holds dear??

The Battle for The Ruler of the World begins tonight!!!

But think about this: The only "haters" that Hillary has "overcome" are from the Republican Party. And the only time she "overcame" them was to win a vacated Senate seat in very, very Democrat New York.

Other than that...she's never won any elections and her only real "test" as a candidate came when she LOST to an unknown Junior Senator named Barrack Obama (who had zero experience as well, just like Trump).

Trump, on the other hand...has his entire party establishment as his "Haters".

And Bill Crystal is calling for a "true conservative" to run a third party candidacy in the general election to make sure Trump can't win.

So Trump has had to overcome his own party's political machine and fight off the Koch brothers...just to get to the general election.

It's truly historic.

Trump is a unicorn. We have never seen and will never see again in our lifetime a guy like him.
He has the big personality, the vision (whether you agree with it or not), and the money to actually tell the Koch Brothers and all the other people in the "Donor Class" to fuck off.

If he doesn't win....the establishment will have forever silenced the people and we will watch the country continue to go down the drain.

If Hillary wins, the establishment will have finished off any hope of real change in this country in our lifetimes.

dyna mo 05-03-2016 09:11 AM

what "historical edge" does hillary have?

she lost in 2008 and has fewer votes now than she did then.

there's never been a woman president

neither party has ever held the WH for 3 consecutive terms.

seems history is not on Hillary's side at all.

just guessing but i think he means that dems won 5 of last 6 popular POTUS votes, & have demographics allegedly moving in their favor. in other words, just assume she will win all the swing votes, regardless of her serious flaws & trumps conventional wisdom wrecking.

If you believe that the only haters HC has had are republicans, then you, Sir, have never visited the Sanders Reddit! Plus look right below your post - there sits another Hillary Hater, claiming to be a democrat.

The real test thing works both ways; neither has Mr. T been tested. Ted Cruz got started last night, after it was clear he would get his deluded ass kicked.

Yes, Trump has outfoxed people so far - journalists - insular turds who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. And damn is he funny! And I'll give you the Jamiel Shaw partnership is the best thing I've ever seen a politician do besides Bill Clinton.

But 240 delegates are from states that have voted democrat for 20 years. Republicans have 180. Can Trump change every swing state? Look at these stats from 2012:

Electoral vote
D: 332 R:206
States carried
D: 26 + DC R:24
Popular vote
D: 65,915,796 R: 60,933,500
Percentage
D: 51.1% R: 47.2%

Obama won by 126 electoral votes with only a 4% popular vote margin. He won only a few more states. Now, granted, Romney was a huge douche who everyone hated, and an idiot cultist to boot, but on the other side was a politician people hate worse than Clinton, they just won't admit it.

I'm not saying Trump won't win. He is the only candidate Clinton wouldn't crush. He is the only candidate that would keep me, a Clinton supporter, from calling the race.

I am just looking forward to seeing if Trump can continue to do this magic. I know what a Clinton can do.

dyna mo 05-03-2016 02:40 PM

Oh I know that Sanders supporters are anti-establishment.

But that wasn't really what I was talking about.

I was referring to the fact that Sanders himself hasn't taken the gloves off and instead tried a more "civilized" approach.
AND the DNC is practically anointing Hillary as their choice (Super Delegates anyone?)

My point was that she has had a comparably easy-breezy time with the campaign so far.
CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC...they all treat her with kid gloves. The only exception would be Fox News. And they don't go after her hard. They simply zero in on her problems while the other media sources ignore them.

Now Trump on the other hand....he has The Koch Brothers, the entire Republican establishment, the RNC, the DNC, and ALL of the media (including Fox News) attacking him and trying to ruin him on a daily basis.

That's what I was trying to point out.

If you think that Sanders supporters on Reddit are "tough" on Hillary (when most people don't even see that stuff)...just wait until the general election when Trump blasts her with both cannons and it's all over every news cycle 24 hours a day.

It actually happened not too long. Bush lost to Clinton in 1992 so it wasn't all that long ago. We also nearly saw it happen again after Clinton. Had it not been for a strange looking ballot and some shenanigans in Florida Gore likely would have won in 2000.

Perhaps in the last 15 years the political landscape has changed enough that it may not happen again for a while, but to me it has happened recently enough that it isn't some kind of historical pattern.

it's happened 2x in ~100 years. once under war time/adverse conditions. that's a historically significant statistic.

Oddly enough Fox News still has Clinton in the lead by 7%.

One poll of one thousand people does not make an election.
