Paypal sucks.

marcop 05-03-2016 02:55 PM

I had a payment delayed 10-15 minutes a few months ago... thought it was probably just a one time glitch.

Hmm. always seems instant to me. Let's test, go ahead and send me $100 and we can see how long it takes me to return it to you ;p

PayPal is not always instant. I don't know what the parameters are, but I have "received" many payments several hours after they were initially sent. It was quite bad a year or so ago.

teg0 05-03-2016 05:21 PM

Always pretty much instant for me. I even get the notification from their app on my phone before I get the email.

Miguel T 05-03-2016 05:43 PM

Zero delays for me aswell.

AaronM 05-03-2016 06:16 PM

Always been, and still is, instant for me unless the other person was paying through a check or something like that. Even the transfers to my bank account are usually done within 12-24 hours even though their site says 3-5 business days.

Sid70 05-03-2016 11:37 PM

To clarify, USA<->USA works fast, nearly instant. But in between countries and currencies it takes time. Was 3 hours once USA->Poland, and 40 minutes Poland->Germany.
I might agree on Aaron's input, tho I never paid via e-check myself, probably that was the case when I had a client sending me $.

what is going on with ebay? :)

rowan 05-04-2016 08:39 AM

Not related to payment speed, but I've just noticed that to download a transaction list covering only 3 months (all dates in 2016) my request now has to be "queued" for later emailing, and I "may experience wait times of up to 24 hours."

The stupid thing is that I can see these transactions just fine when logged in, so it's not like they have to query a special historical database, or load data from archives. To create the PDF with the data they've already loaded would probably take less than a second. I guess I'll have to go old school and screen cap it. :error
