Music and its effects on a human brain

Sometimes I think I make more sense and do more productive shit when I don't listen to music
Meanwhile at other times I seem to use music to get me all motivated and horrible and aggressive

I know that technically, music is just more stress for a human brain, I don't think we're meant to be exposed to so much stimulation ,,, olfactory, auditory, ocular, etc

I was experimenting a lot with music and productivity , and i think only classical music is good for it, everything else is simply too distracting and making an opposite expect.

I mostly listen to sludge/stoner metal, but sometimes classical or movie score, depending on the type of work I'm doing at that moment.

I'm not sure of what metal really is
It's not the screamo stuff is it?
I don't like the screamo stuff

Vocals fuck me up when I'm working on a programming / code / new tech project but when designing it's not so important.

I'd love that music didn't have any effect on me ...

When I'm working on emails or coding I like putting on chill or house with very limited vocals. If I'm just processing photos, then I can put on stuff that is more lyrical. It also depends on my caffeine level LOL

Absolutely. :)

For me, often I listen to sports talk radio instead of music. This way I more or less keep abreast of things and I get a break every 20 minutes for commercials, etc.

Programming is logical whereas design is driven by emotion. It's about complementing the work load with just enough distraction to force you to pause and think.
