Trump says beating Clinton will be ?easy.? He?s delusional. Literally.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...nal-literally/

This has Robbie written all over it.

Quote:

It has become fashionable to claim, as Andrew Sullivan does, that Trump supporters are rallying to him in part because liberals have somehow made them feel culturally inferior, and Trump will make them feel great again. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
It is true, as Sullivan also claims, that Democrats are partly complicit in the economic quasi-abandonment of blue collar whites, and it’s possible Trump is successfully tapping into that.
Quote:

Then there’s the electoral college. As Chris Cillizza shows, if Dems win the states they’ve won in the last six presidential elections, all they need is Florida to win. Demographic changes are slowly edging states like Virginia and North Carolina towards the Dem column, giving Republicans a lot less room for error.
Trump is already viewed unfavorably by enormous majorities of women, nonwhites, young voters, and college educated whites
Guess what?

Polls as we all know change over the course of time.
From an outsider staring in - just looks like the people are tired of the same ol' shit and are using this to tell the government that they simply are tired of it all.

This doesn't change anything at all.

About this time before the last election, Obama was beating Romeny by 1% and Obama won. Right now, Clinton has a 13% lead over Trump. Trump will never be able to overcome that. Surely those numbers will become closer over time, and some polls might even put Trump on top, but he will never get close enough to win.

2MuchMark 05-04-2016 09:04 AM

As another outsider looking in, I used to think this trump stuff was a joke, and thought he would have been defeated a long time ago. It's getting spooky-serious now.

I think Hillary can beat Trump. She looks strong and knows her stuff. Bernie is smart but he looks feeble beside Trump.

Scary stuff.

Not speaking about the OP, I was amazed how disgusting washington post reports on Trump/GOP.

I love their live statistics during the primaries so I open washington post often and those "opinion columns" about Trump were constantly flowing and were highest level of libtard rants.
Disgusting libby paper, not as bad as libby shit post aka huff post, but high on libby shit paper scale.

Now about polls - it was explained why the polls are WAY too early due to unusual circumstances (was not that too early in all previous elections because circumstances were normal). Trump can close a gap when he starts on Hilary, when GOP stops pouring negative ads and starts pumping positive money etc etc - these are part of those unusual circumstances and this is the reason you can not blindly follow the polls just yet.

mikesouth 05-04-2016 09:09 AM

Its a long time till November and a lot can happen....I do know this...they could charge 19.99 PPV for the first Trump/Clinton debate and make bank...Id pay it....

As an aside I kinda think the convention to watch will be the democratic one...I am convinced that Hillary was promised the nomination in exchange for stepping aside for Obama in 08. I think that bernie was installed simply for show and to give Hillary someone to appear to the right of. I think as bernie got popular and people started saying hey man you could win this, it went to his head a bit. I also think that all of these disenfranchised Democratic voters are NOT going to be happy with Hillary running away with the nomination when arguably Sanders should have won it

Relentless 05-04-2016 09:14 AM

The ONLY person who could get Hillary elected is Trump. Hillary is the fat homely girl nobody wants to fuck, until the party is ending and the only other option is her annoying friend who never shuts the fuck up. Trump is that annoying girl.

I just looked up that CNN poll which came out yesterday and makes it the latest poll.
http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2016/im...16.general.pdf

"BASED ON 878 REGISTERED VOTERS AND 12 INDIVIDUALS WHO PLAN TO REGISTER TO
VOTE, FOR A TOTAL OF 890 REGISTERED VOTERS"

WTF? That's how they are checking the pulse of a nation of over 300 million people?
And who picks these people being polled? I'd say that 900 people from Chicago would have a completely different political view than 900 people from Kentucky.

Anyway, it's just kind of jolting to see how few people these polls really represent.
For some reason I thought that all the Presidential polls used at least several thousand people nationwide. :(

Relentless 05-04-2016 09:22 AM

CNN is not news and has not been a news source for nearly a decade.

People and the Media have been saying for the past year Trump doesn't have a chance. Love him or hate him he has continually proven people wrong.

Come November its going to be a hell of a lot closer than people think.

Agreed. Now is when Trump moves more to the left for the GE.

HRC is the smartest of the three. Sanders is great at selling pipe dreams. Trump is excellent at branding himself in a positive way & his opponents in the negative.

12clicks 05-04-2016 10:06 AM

If trump isn't elected, it simply proves that the electorate has been dumbed down enough to the point that they think change isn't necessary, or that hillary will change things. If the majority of Americans believe that, we're fucked.

who cares what the dems won in their last 6? means nothing. what does matter is turnout in swing states. maybe look into whose getting people to turn out. & remember, crooked hilary, not bernie, is your candidate. the DNC made sure of that.

Mike you're like a fuckin celebrity, are you serious with this? Dude, how many people would need to be complicit in something like that? You are actually IN the media! Presidential politics is chaotic and messy. There is no ruling body (of Jews, democrats or otherwise) that could make or enforce these decisions. Obama won because he got more pledged delegates. He was 100 delegates ahead. She was very gracious when she dropped the race, and urged her voters to support Obama. That may have had something to do with why Obama made her Secretary of State.

She ran and expects to win because she raised tens of millions, has hundreds of powerful democrats supporting her, and she is a Clinton. You would too, had you been in her shoes.

Bernie Sanders tapped the young progressives, and they have done amazing things.

There isn't any conspiracy. Sanders has dedicated supporters who work very hard for him. She has always been "on top" so there wasn't much urgency among her supporters. No one expected Bill Clinton or Obama to win either. Al Gore was an establishment candidate who lost to a person who said "noo-culer". People like unscripted candidates.

Shedevils 05-04-2016 12:37 PM

It's a long time until November and anything can happen. I'm voting Trump. I simply cannot imagine where America would be after eight years of Clinton.

It all hinges on younger voters and whether or not they perceive Trump as a threat to their degeneracy. If they don't show on election day it will be very close indeed.

Just like with the Republicans. They had already anointed Jeb Bush.

Supporting a person and "promising them the nomination" are two different things. If I tell you I'll support you if you run for office, that is "support". If I tell you I'll give you the office, I'm either a criminal or delusional.

Clinton has a lot of support, and so did Bush. If the voters mirror that support, she wins. If not, she loses. There is no person with the power to give the nomination or the presidency.

Absolutely agreed - the other day I watched billo and the poll he showed had a sample size of only 1500 idiots . I could not fucking believe it.

kane 05-05-2016 03:18 PM

Here is a little look into the uphill battle Trump has ahead of him. I took this from electoral-vote.com

"As the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza points out, there are 19 states plus D.C. that the Democrats have won in every election from 1992 to 2012. Together they add up to 242 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win the White House.A new general-election poll of a Clinton-Trump matchup shows Clinton ahead by 13 points in Florida, a state with 29 electoral votes. A simple sum shows 242 + 29 = 271. Game over."

This means for Trump to win he either needs to take some democrat strong states away from Hillary or he will basically have to win all of the battleground states. Neither are easy prospects.

So far nothing has gone as expected with this election so there is no reason to think that things can't change and strange things can't happen, but it is pretty clear, if Trump wants to win he has a major uphill climb ahead of him.
