Fuck Virgin Media and TalkTalk
 

Stupid two bit internet providers.

I was with Virgin Media for 10 years. I was quiet happy with the broadband I received. They got paid every month and I got a reasonable service until last year when they decided to sell me to another company.

I along with 1000's of other customers were sold to TalkTalk. We had no say in the matter but one day we were with Virgin Media and the next it was TalkTalk.

The reason - Virgin didn't want to deal with broadband customers they wanted to go Fibre only..

TalkTalk have a reputation for shit broadband and even shittier customer service and while I never bothered to call them I can testify the broadband is shit.

Anyway, within weeks of taking over from Virgin they got hacked and lost a boat load of customer information which included some 157,000 emails.
Now, I get several spam / phishing emails a day. All thanks TalkTalk being inadequate.

Now I have been told they will be deleting my email which I have held for over 10 years next month. No choice. What a fucking joke.

So yeah, Fuck Virgin and TalkTalk.

This sounds awful! OMG, I can't believe they would do this!

Was there no way of going fibre, or is it the area you're living? Virgins Fibre's out of this world, I think now up to 150 mb down & 100 mb up.

We're on 4G here in Spain. We run off the similar to a phone, only 30mb down & 4 up, but perfect for my cams & the system is secure & very stable :thumbsup

No, we are not in an area that supports fibre so that's it.

You can webcam with 30mb down and 4 mb up? And HD stream works with that? Isn't it that the up mb's are the mb's crucial for the receiver (the customer on the other end of the webcam) how they see you on the cam? 4 up sounds a little low then...

Just sent this thread to a friend of mine who works for Virgin Media. Interested to see what he says. I hadn't heard of that happening before. Ridiculous though...

BT all the way baby! I have 'Infinity 2' which is supposed to be in fiber only areas, but I'm not in a cabled area. They simply give me a normal connection and give me double the speed that I would get with normal infinty :)
