I was little older but i figured out how it works. You just had to build tons of chariots and that's it, easy win.

Yeah, I was little so I didn't play long enough to figure that out. My neighbor gave it to me. :upsidedow

I think I switched over to Full Throttle, Thexder and Jazz Jackrabbit about the same time and forgot I had Civilization.. :winkwink:

Same here, was really young when played the first.. also it was in English which definitely isn't my native language :) Since then I played almost every release except the 4 I think

I love this game and remember playing the first version of it as it was yesterday...

I love V, do not care for Beyond Earth. This looks more like V, very cartoony though. Looking forward to it.

I agree, BE was a joke. Basically they skinned and adjusted a few things from V and through a packaged game at us.

My first thought when I saw the trailer this morning was, "Ok, great cinematic, no what are you giving us that is new."

Then I found this. Some good shit in there...

Sounds interesting. I like the district's concept, I have thought of something similar to that in the past.

Now I have a hankering to play V...

Yeah i have to agree with this one as well, BE is very poor feature wise compared to civilization, but i still wasted my money on both original and BE extension rising tide just of respect to firaxis.

I played them all and a lot and I find CivIII (with Conquests upgrade) still the most enjoyable

I wish there was CivIII-a-look-a-like version of Colonization too

Google Expert 05-12-2016 01:09 AM

Never played it are any of the older versions worth buying?

ilnjscb 05-12-2016 08:30 AM

What version was the one that had Leonard Nimoy doing quotes? That one was great - was it IV?

Sly 05-12-2016 09:00 AM

Last night I ended up playing V for 3 hours.

In the article, it was mentioned that most players seem to settle on 4 cities. I gave it a try, I like building massive empires so 4 cities never works for me. Without even trying I was up to 9 cities.

What strategies do you guys do? What mode do you try to win in? My favorite is straight up domination.

Paul&John 05-12-2016 09:09 AM

Domination of course :)

I could go on and on with strategies, as i was competing in "pro league" at civfanatics.com, managed to get silver medal once, but basically fastest way to win is to research better army sooner then opponents.

This is a BETTER game by some of the people who made the earlier Civ games.
