Halabja

Quote:

The attack killed between 3,200 and 5,000 people and injured 7,000 to 10,000 more, most of them civilians.[1][2] Thousands more died of complications, diseases, and birth defects in the years after the attack.[3] The incident, which has been officially defined by Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal as a genocidal massacre against the Kurdish people in Iraq,[4] was and still remains the largest chemical weapons attack directed against a civilian-populated area in history.[5]

The Halabja attack has been recognized as a distinct event of the Anfal Genocide conducted against the Kurdish people by the Iraqi regime under Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi High Criminal Court recognized the Halabja massacre as an act of genocide on March 1, 2010, a decision welcomed by the Kurdistan Regional Government. The attack was also condemned as a crime against humanity by the Parliament of Canada.[6]

The US is the one with imperial ambitions? Last time I checked Russia was the one who annexed a portion of land from another sovereign country :)

Which one? Iraq? Afghanistan? Libya? Syria? The last time I've checked it was some other country. Do you know what the "imperial ambitions" mean? Since because your mother language is too poor to describe the actual situation, I'll simple give you this picture:

Sure dance around the fact that Russia annexed part of the Ukraine. That map above is US bases. Your logic is deeply flawed if you think that is remotely comparable.

Although I guess that's understandable, Russians still think they liberated Eastern Europe in WWII. However, if you never leave and kill millions then how was it any different than the Nazis? :D

I DO NOT support the military annexation of Crimea. However, it has never been a part of the Ukraine. It was a mistake. I mean the joining of Russian Crimea to the Soviet Ukraine was a huge mistake, however I do believe there could be a better (non-military) way to fix that problem.

But... it has happened and nothing we can change anymore...

You sound stupid, you know? There is no "iron curtain" anymore. You can simple take a ticket to Crimea like that Californian dude did and watch it for yourself. It as easy, as it easy to me to buy a ticket to Prague.

Just do it, watch it for yourself and stop whine about RT propaganda. I don't like that channel too, but I do believe to the people who live in Crimea. They are 10000x times more pro-Russian than I'm. So buy a ticket, go there and try to explain the people who live there they were annexed. Please just have someone to film it to a phone. I want to see howw long it will take till the Crimeans will beat your face into a pate LOL :)

It has nothing to do with mass surveillance apparatus. It's about culture. People in the ME have been fighting tribal wars for longer than they could write about them.

Of course in a civilised country, like the UK, they're a good tool to protect the innocent and prosecute the guilty.

Why are you worried about them?

I don't have to. Plenty of them came flooding into Czech Republic after Russia "rescued them". Probably because of all that increase in the quality of life after becoming part of Russia.

klinton 05-12-2016 01:24 AM

because I have something to hide and protect ! which is my privacy, dignity and liberty...
building aparatus like that is like building foundation for new type of rules - which is dictatorship.
such aparatus built in secrecy (not anymore) and without any oversight is dangerous and will make citizens- state relations not like subject- subject relations, but rather object (citizen) - subject (state) relations.
I don't know about you, but for me its not OK. Yeah I know..if you are British I may understand why your country is like that :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
on the other hand I would add and clarify that my views doesnt mean that I say that we should be "tolerant" for DEDICATED bad guys, criminals or dedicated fanatics that only want to destroy our current lives. actually, we should show them less mercy than now.
