But when I surf 85-90% of mainstream websites, it's like I have dial-up internet on a commodore 64.

I thinks it's 3rd party ads that causes the problem but maybe not.
I just don't see how this computer or my connection sucks that bad to make the internet something I'm starting to hate that I pay for.

TV just works better.

ya mainstream sites have so many ads these days it is out of control. I think these days you can get more malware from mainstream sites than porn sites :2 cents:

The problem is that you have a $1200 computer. If you had a macbook pro (in rose gold finish) that cost three times more, you would be OK.

Mainstream sites are terrible. If I'm bombarded by ads, like what you're talking about, I never return to the site.

But all the news is there unless I wait for Brassmonkey.

your wifi could be the problem. if im hard wired in i get great speeds but 2.4 ghz wifi signal can be good sometimes but is often terrible. 5ghz work fine though.

I know there are lots of ads, but should small ads slow the site down? Maybe many mainstream sites are using shitty hosts & servers?

Same thing with me and everyone I know. It the ads and the spyware they track everything you surf to see what ads to show you.

Install an ad blocker when you surf those sites, it should resolve any issues you have.

The bottleneck is the NSA monitoring and gathering everything you consume, post, read, and/or otherwise experience online for your "citizen profile record"...you will be hearing much more about this very soon.

Pulling in javascript, fonts, images etc from 20 different servers increases render time.

It shits me when I scroll down to the top of an article and start reading as it's still loading, then the font changes or an extra image appears and the whole thing shifts.

Or there's a gigantic popover begging you to subscribe 3 seconds after you load the page.

maybe your internet is so fast, web servers cant keep up with it.

top speed and latency are 2 different things., just saying,
sometimes my connection acts weird too if i do too much torrenting, bcoz ISP slows you down. need to reset router 4-5 times to fix it.
