it's gotta suck falling off a cruise ship

what a way to go. fall 10+ stories into the ocean next to a massive ship as it blasts right on by you and into the darkness.

I always imagine it's like "Time slows, self narrative of so... this is how it ends... cheesy slow music... splash, chomp chomp chomp."

+ you prolly have a good buzz along with that, good enough to fall off a 1000 foot tall boat, so maybe not so bad.

at 2 am, I hope the fall would knock me out, then a nice easy drowning...

Joshua G 05-15-2016 10:51 AM

not sure. tom hanks hit the water in a fedex plane from 30,000 feet, no problemo.

:2 cents:

freaks me out, I may have a balcony room for the view and the extra light, but I will not be on the balcony. hehe

He was in a rubber raft, come on that is how you survive a plane crash. Just jump in a rubber raft. Make sure it is blown up though. That is a must.

The entire movie was just an illustration about the lengths someone will go to avoid marrying Helen Hunt.

230 feet not 1000. Still a very sizable fall and an absolute horrible way to die

the ship she fell off of measures ~1000 feet tall, i looked it up as i was curious, the articles did not mention from how high she fell, thus, she fell from a 1000' tall ship.

What was the name of the boat?

Choopa Phil 05-25-2016 01:55 PM

The tallest cruise ship in the world is 230 something feet or at least it was. I went on it last year its the allure of the seas. 1000 feet would be the empire state building...it would not pass under bridges lol

They never find these people because they are immediately sucked into the giant intakes of the cruise ship. I think the whole 'search and rescue' stunt is for the families and the media.

I jetskiid close to one once and it's scary as hell, the intakes are so strong it pulls you towards them. I've seen those seatow boats get too close and they end up getting attached to the back of the cruise ship like a magnet. No way a person could out swim that, even if they were conscious.

Terrible situation, but at least it didn't end up like the titanic.

yeah, you're right, my bad. i did look it up but obviously fucked up. 1000 feet is way up there! in looking it up now though, the news shows that video has her on the 10th deck so that's like, what, maybe 120 feet off the water? she was sitting on the rail backwards.
