As for polls, I have not been following, but is it really true? Just +- 3 weeks ago few forum names were laughing at Trump chances citing polls where Hilary was crushing Trump.
I said it was too early for polls due to unusual circumstances, but even I did not believe thy would turn around so quickly.

I sure as fuck feel for those that aren't though, and when I see them struggle daily I thank my lucky stars I'm blessed with the means to not have to rely on the government for any damn thing at all, and that I do ok in spite of, not thanks to, those cunts. Not everyone is born with a decent brain/mind, and for every one person that makes it out of the ghetto or trailer park or council sink estate, there are thousands and thousands who don't, and for who the odds are stacked against them higher than some of us had them. That's without getting into war vets, the disabled, the mentally ill, those hooked on prescription drugs because of doctors far too willing to dole out meds instead of real core treatment, and no doubt a bunch of other groups I can't think of off the top of my head. And don't get me started on the involuntarily homeless, that's a fucking crime in 2016 in 1st world countries.

And I'm just supposed to say fuck you to those less fortunate than myself? I've been homeless, a junkie, an alcoholic, and in jail - yes I pulled myself out of all of those, and these days am a (hopefully) productive member of society... that was mostly luck rather than judgement, so I'm very careful not to fall into pulling the ladder up and saying I'm alright Jack. you've obviously never lived in the UK if you think 1200? (~£900) a month is anything you can do much past survive on. Plus it's not just about what you can earn 'tax free' - there are MANY other issues a couple of which I already mentioned. How about those who live in social housing at eg £100 a week rent + council tax... they fall ill at work, through an accident in the workplace... 3 weeks later the employment sick pay runs out, and the state-based sick-pay is £85 a week... out of which you need to pay your £100 a week rent, your council tax, buy your food, pay your utility bills. That amazing £900 'tax free' a month (which is the tax threshold, not the minimum wage) that you use for your rent, food, utility bills, petrol to travel to-from work, monthly car insurance/tax doesn't leave much to put into savings for such instances, and you find yourselves getting evicted... this exact scenario is happening to someone I know, who has worked various jobs since age 16, right up until now at age 45 - far from any kind of leech on society.

Merely anecdotal of course, but there's literally millions of people with a similar one, caught up in a catch-22 situation... many are just lazy, but most are not, and don't know where to start to get out of the poverty trap. It's fucking disgraceful in 2016. As I said, I'm a capatalist by nature, considered a conservative if people were to label my views, and believe everyone has the choice to better themselves - problem is, the vast majority of those don't *know* they have a choice, because for one thing the education system is so fucked. Add in a thousand other instances of gov't interference and fuck ups, and that's what keeps people down - I don't mean they intentionally do, like some sinister lets-fuck-with-these-guys way, but through incompetence, being out of touch with reality, thinking they know what's best for everyone, and managing to dumb down the whole of society accordingly during the course of recent history.

That people don't know, or don't care, or plain can't see the rest of the population (let's not forget, those of us at this board actually in business make up a tiny %age of the population in UK/USA) are finally getting angry enough is to be laughed at? Derided?

What kind of a change do we need? Do we want unemployment to go back up? Do we want people to lose their jobs, and their houses? Do we want to go back to more needless wars?

There is a whole generation, maybe even 2 or 3 generations, that have been spoonfed the idea of "go to college and life will be great." Somewhere along the line they forgot the whole part about "learning marketable skills" and instead of becoming GOOD at something, they spent 5 (not 4) years pulling out as much money in loans as possible with no fiscal responsibility clinging on to the "American Dream" (this is not the real American Dream) with their fingers crossed that someday they will get a good paying job and their financial irresponsibilities will go flying out the fairytale window.

Everyone is not meant for college. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not going to college. It doesn't mean you're stupid, it doesn't mean you're not useful to society, it does not mean you are a loser.

The minute society allows this fact to settle in and take hold, fewer unqualified people will go to college, college will be cheaper for the qualified people and they will then get an even better education. Will this cause an educational and societal gap because the smart will be getting smarter and the "dumb" will be staying the same? We already have that gap, why continue stuffing this ideological dream down kids throats and instead finally get over this wave of mediocrity we have somehow deemed acceptable by bolstering our strengths and minimizing our weaknesses.
