There is only one Photoshop. It's probably the only Adobe product I couldn't work without. :2 cents:

For image editing I use MS Paint. My wife uses Gimp.

ACDSee? The last time I used that I was 10 years old. ACDSee wasn't that good more than 15 years ago and it's probably as bad.

Get Photoshop.

Adobe

Years ago I bought the bloated expensive PhotoShop - too much work, I dumped it and went back to the cheaper easier program I had. I did buy ACDC a couple years ago when my file renamer went out of business, it works good for renaming files. I fooled around with it a little bit, it looks OK to me, but I'm already comfortable with the other program that is probably on even keel with ACDC. It is shareware too, so you can download it and try it out before you buy. After all we are shooting high volume production and probably the feature we need most is fast file handling, not endless tweaking trying to achieve the perfect image when you just shot 1500 stills.

Adobe has gone subscription, I have dumped all software that has gone subscription. Not worth it and I just don't like the idea I'm getting screwed. Plenty pdf conversion software out there too, some free. Probably take up less room on your HD too.

i have sumatra and acrobat reader .
sumatra takes my vote, but for more complex pdfs acrobat is the only option.

I love Photoshop but not Creative Cloud... the latest PS version has a new "improved" interface that sucks so bad I reinstalled the previous version. My CC subscription has just expired and I'm cancelling it and dropping back to the CS6 version.

I agree with needing Photoshop, I've been using it since I was little and although some programs like GIMP might technically be able to do the same thing, I'm not used to it and don't like it..

I like subscriptions, too. I still have Autodesk products free for about 3 more years. :winkwink:

Still usin' an old copy of Pshop Elements5 I bought many moons ago.

But also use PhotoImpact (Ulead) and a few others.

Win10 is the first OS that I can't get my '92 copy of Aldus Photostyler to work, lol.
