Because I enjoy watching GFY libbies squeal. And, maybe you have not noticed, US politics influence all of the world, it is a global economy if you have not noticed, for example US housing market collapse affected all of the world in a major way.
Another example - if US leads in taking lots of rapefugees, many countries may follow, if US says no to rapefugees, some countries may reconsider lowering their numbers as well etc. Just a simple example of how world leading country influences all of the rest.
