Hey US folk, is the gasoline prank set up or not?

Reason I ask...



here the same couple say it was not staged...



here, it says they were actors...



any insight please?

They did this to a few different people. Ask them, too..

but does anyone know if it's real or sketched?

100% staged. that was shot at the Costco in Burbank. I go there all the time to get gas and shop.

1) early in the original video you can see a "members only" sign. if you're familiar with costco, you know what their sign looks like. also the "wrong way" sign (0:33) is clearly costco.
2) they would have need permission(location release) from costco corporate to film on site. (no easy feat)
3) that TV monitor was placed there by NBC and they're not present ordinarily.
