Wht are the commentators happy with England's performance?

England v Russia.

Match stats show England dominated. Goals prove otherwise. The only thing that counts is goals. Russia packed the defence to stop England getting clear shots. They weren't that good even at that. They were better at it, than England were ar scoring.

Kane was allowed to play while having an off day.
Sterling has a habit of running up the field with the ball and doing nothing when he got there.
Rooney was great at long cross-filed balls, to attackers facing too many defenders.
The rest of the midfield were good but predictable.
Kane should never be taking corners, he's a goal scorer and if the best 10 English players can't take a corner, we're in deep shit.
Two full backs were good at running up the field and doing little when they got there. Defence handled the Russian attack pretty well. They will have to improve.

Too many passes sideways or out to the wings. Leicester carved good sides apart by playing kick and run because modern defences, especially at International level, expect a slow build up. Russia are not Barcelona and if the ball was given away, they gave it back. Playing the occasional straight ball, that has to be pracrticed on the training ground, give fast player the chance to beat slow and poor defenders.

The times England got a shot on goal, it had to be snatched at quiclky and what's clear from last nights display is none of them are good goal scorers when facing International defences. none of the midfield is capable of doing the unexpected, like Payet. Who did it all night long for France. All the on target shots were straight at the goalkeeper.

Should beat Wales and Slovakia, so long as they don't copy Russia's tactics.

Yeah it seemed like a lot of excitement over nothing last night. Let's face it that was a poor poor Russian team. England needed a free kick to score. Their best goal threat was the guy taking corners.

They will still likely qualify from the group yes, but a Germany, France, Spain etc will not be running scared of anything they saw last night...

Croatia have been all over Turkey here. A poor Turkey side. So basically same situation as the game last night. Are Croatia gonna win Euros? Not likely...

Best game so far on now. And I'm falling asleep because I'm too tired. Germany look good and Ukraine are stretching them. Will record it.

Sterling always had run out of steam at the end of a run ... and he runs like a gay man with a vibrator stuck in his arse.

they should use the strategies i use for FIFA, spread to the outside and slowly make you way inward as you move nearer to the goal.

Germany were streets of the ones who have played so far.
