Ad fraud could be worth $140 billion by 2025
A new report by the WFA (World Federation of Advertisers) says that globally, ad fraud might be in the range of 10 per cent to 30 per cent, though the writers of the report also agree that the actual number could be way more than 30 per cent, with some estimates quoted by WFA suggesting a figure as high as 90 per cent.

I don't know if the 'fraud' rate includes ads billed that were never shown because of adblockers. If you take that into account the never seen rate is more like 60%.
I am interested in buying ads on websites directly where my content is served from that website as a file. Not as a 3rd party ad that is blocked -- high volume sites only pls. |

It's a serious issue for all media buyers imo. I think that anybody who has already invested time and money in ad networks has encountered weird stats, eventually. The first thought that comes to my mind when I see weird stats is that the network is cheating on me, but actually, the adnetwork is probably being cheated (and maybe both in some cases)
The truth is that "blackhat" is one of the most lucrative job nowadays and from my point of view, as a digital marketer, it's just like cancer for all the industry, and maybe even more for the mainstream industry. |
