Russia Could Defeat NATO in Less Than 3 Days

Could Russia really take down NATO in just a couple of days? A Department of Defense official has backed the Rand Corporation think tank's claim that the Russian military could defeat NATO forces in the Baltics in just 60 hours. The statement is the latest in a string of warnings that the Atlantic Alliance is too weak to mount a defense of its member nations.

Michael Carpenter, deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia, endorsed the Rand Corporation's report, "Reinforcing Deterrence on NATO's Eastern Flank." The report says that the Baltic States, including Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, are too weak to oppose a Russian attack and that too few NATO forces would be able to assist in their defense.

U.S. Official: Russia Could Defeat NATO in Less Than 3 Days

Isn't that why the USA maintains a nuclear deterrent and the Russians would have a nuclear reply -- the shit has hit the fans -- we are all going to die :upsidedow

In reality; how much was the new appropriation budget request?

Aside: We are discussing possibly having our annual corporate meeting in Romania as we have branch offices there. I said: "Can we have the meeting at a resort on the Black Sea -- we can watch the NATO fleet maneuvers from the beach." No balls no glory :2 cents:

Seems NATO support ISIS as the many facts lead to this.It would not be in 3 day but is a week or two yes

And the pussy-ass Russians didn't bomb ISIS into submission -- they left Syria as soon as they secured their military presence in the country and the Assad regime was stabilized.

So, Russia supports ISIS the same way NATO supports ISIS -- both refuse to seriously deal with it and neither have any instant remedy :2 cents:

Horatio Caine 06-15-2016 08:06 AM

Large portion of ISIS fighters come from Saddam's army trained by russians. So, Putin, Cyber Dipshit and that other guy from Russia who likes to type gibberish are to blame. :1orglaugh

mineistaken 06-15-2016 08:10 AM

Defeating a portion of forces (eg winning a battle) is not the same as defaeting nato.

celandina 06-15-2016 08:33 AM

Don't worry Donald and Vladimir will make a deal and wipe ISIS.:2 cents:

Barry-xlovecam 06-15-2016 08:36 AM

More likely to eat the corn out of each others shit :2 cents:

BTW: Russian sponsored agents are alleged to have hacked into the DNC's servers (Democrat National Committee [DNC]) to get the itel records the Dems have gathered on Donald Trump. Mr. Putin must want the 'dirt' on Trump as he considers him a possible adversary (the obvious conclusion). So, it's dirty business as usual :2 cents:

libbies control the media, they won't allow Mr. Trump to win.

Rochard 06-15-2016 09:17 AM

Anything is possible.

The most modern example of a current day war is what happened in Iraq when the United States attacked. It was amazing really. With the first shots of the war, the United States attacked a communications bunker and destroyed it which pretty much ended command and control for all of the Iraqi military and government. It's really amazing.

The big difference today is the larger countries can see it coming from miles away. Stealth planes might be able to get through without being noticed, but any large scale troop or ship movements would be seen from satellites.

Let's pray this never happens. Working for Dating Factory has really opened up my eyes to people in "Eastern Europe", Ukrainians and Russians. At the end of the day they are no different than those of us in Europe or North America.

mineistaken 06-15-2016 09:17 AM

To edit my previous post: not so much libbies, powers that control everything are not stupid (and not stupid people rarely are libbies themselves), but I meant that they push libby agenda to the people.

We're headed straight for another cold war thanks to Russia's militaristic posturing of late.

Go Putin!

Change the smell of gasoline to the smell of nuclear implosion -- that is probably a close approximation -- that lasts milliseconds. The last thing you will ever remember:2 cents:

The key phrase here is "in Baltics". Yes, it can, because it's a Russian zone of influence and Russia has much bigger military group in that region than all NATO countries together.

Now the question: Why in the hell would Russia do that? A reason? A profit?

wasn't there a ceasefire signed where russia had to demand the right to continue assaults on isis in syria/iraq, and alnusra? While doing so, being accused of attacking anti-government forces, who just so happen to include the big bad ISIS?

i mean, if we're so interested in stopping these guys, why does it seem like we do a great deal to prevent that?

in any event, russia has used this opportunity to showcase it's hardware and weapon sales are booming. so we will have plenty of opportunity to discuss these things

nico-t 06-16-2016 02:23 AM

Everybody reading this article is tempted to post about the content, go into discussion about it, etc.

But please take a step back - Why did this 'think thank' research this and why is it spread throughout the media? Why are the media and the political powers steering towards Russia vs. The West? It's to condition you for a new plan. Maybe look at what is going on right now instead of falling for hypothetical war scenario indoctrination by our corrupt masters.

Sickening how the EU will let ISIS supporter and dictatorship Turkey join them, while spreading anti Russia propaganda - the only country who made sure ISIS didn't take over the whole of Syria. What the fuck.

Open your eyes! Don't fall for it!

LOL

So NATO all of a sudden doing a highly provocative big scaled military "exercise" spread at the whole Russian border with Europe, without any reason just to push the bad "Russia vs the West" agenda, is not posturing at all.

It's so fucking clear their new pet project is making Russia the enemy again. I haven't had the time to dig for the reason, but it's clear as day that they are conditioning the people in the West that Russia is bad.

Don't let this propaganda get to you, think for yourself.

venus 06-16-2016 07:04 PM

that's a misleading headline, way misleading. No where dis it say that they could defeat NATO, only that they could defeat NATO forces in the Baltics which has basically no militaries and NATO only has a few troops there. As for NATO overall...no Russia would get their asses handed to them on a silver platter

You tend to distort reality don't you?

Turkey applied to the EU in the late 1980s... And they are still not a member.

In 2008 it took 5 days to repel Georgian aggression and completely defeat their army which was about 44000 units. Take in mind, that first attack was made by Georgia, so they had an advantage.

Let me remind you - by Western media. As Barry-xlovecam said above: "maybe a death wish?"

You will never read those things in Russian media. I mean course they post translated versions of all those western articles like "what if Russia attacks us?" However there are no articles in Russian media like "what if we decide to attack NATO countries?" So everybody can clearly see which side this war wind is blowing from :2 cents:

brassmonkey 06-17-2016 12:00 AM

correct turkey had been released from sanctions like 10 years ago. russia wants more sanctions.

You're not up to date.

Turkey has blackmailed the EU for billions of euros and membership of the EU, otherwise they will open the floodgates again for millions more immigrants.

I have read leaked documents, a transcript word by word, how the deal went between Erdogan and the spineless EU officials. He blatantly blackmails and the EU officials had nothing to counter offer because of the open border policy that seems to be holy to the EU higher ups - somehow they have to stay open no matter what. The result is: being held hostage by a Turkish dictator, threatening to overflow Europe with more migrants whenever he disagrees with the EU. EU accepts this over closing borders, it's fucking insane.

And it looks like Turkey gets what they want. Before this there were around 75 regulations they didn't comply with for EU membership. Since Erdogan is the leader there, Turkey is going back to the stone age, less human rights, and no freedom of speech. So you can bet that they do not comply with even more regulations now - yet miraculously, all of a sudden since the blackmail deal, the EU said that they comply with the majority of those 75 regulations. Like you said, for decades they didn't comply and now, after blackmailing, they comply with almost all of them in a few weeks time?

Prediction: Unless EU wakes up and just closes the borders, which won't happen, Turkey will join the EU this year already if not in a few months. Mark my words.

Only fool can't see what is done currently and in previous years, with a simple goal : to earn money. They need enemy, and if Russia is declared as one, budgets are going to be high and military lobby will make huge profits on mass paranoia and fear.

Not sure in what parallel universe people live but Russians and most of other countries in the world wants to live, have fun and enjoy peace. If someone lost enough lives in previous century that is Russia. They never recovered from such loss.

Placing these kind of texts and statements in news is the part of one more propaganda campaign. Seen so many times. Demonizing nations, declaring them savages or at least, dangerous.

Things suck even more because while NATO is talking crap against Russia, they are filled with muslims and terrorists are making mess all over. How stupid is that?

It is simple, if Russians wanted war, they would be in Paris and Berlin in a 10 days probably. We all saw how Europeans are handling unarmed muslims and what kind of panic is created by simple terrorist attack, and not a serious invasion. No normal person is thinking about something like that. They have enough territory and resources for centuries to come.
