The timing of the cold-blooded murder of liberal British lawmaker Jo Cox, as she was leaving a meeting with constituents Thursday, has led to a flurry of social-media chatter claiming Cox?s killing was plotted by forces seeking to sway next week?s referendum in favor of Britain remaining in the European Union.

Cox was stabbed and shot, allegedly by a right-wing loner. But some supporters of a British exit from the EU are spreading a conspiracy theory that the suspect, identified as Thomas Mair, 52, is a patsy of pro-EU forces, and that Cox?s murder is a ?false flag? aimed at portraying the British right as unhinged and dangerous.

This view has been widely circulating on social media and underscores the increasingly heated debate over Britain?s future in the EU. Much like American voters who have rallied behind presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, supporters of the so-called Brexit tend to be immigrant-wary nationalists who are dissatisfied with establishment politicians.

of course - not the nationalist loon is the culprit here but he was probably sent by the Bilderberg meeting earlier this week

what makes you say he was a nationalist loon? A loon, yes. but there is no evidence that he was a nationalist except for what the left wing papers are spreading. claims that he shouted "Britain first" have apparently been retracted by witnesses some of whom now say that they didn't even see the incident. And claims that the murderer was a member of ultra-right wing groups seem to have confused they guy with another bloke. Don't forget as well that the "loon" was initially attacking another person when Jo Cox intervened, is this how a nationalist killer works? Attacks a random person in the hope that the female target will put herself in danger by getting involved?
But damage done, eh?

you are right - i usually also wait in other cases what is the outcome of an investigation before i say my part - which is why the usual right wing suspects here on GFY call me traitor etc - just because i don't play along with their quick judgement. So I will take the "nationalist" back and just call him a loon (i think we can agree that nobody with a sane mind commits something like this).

But I would be very surprised if her stance on Europe and refugees did not in any way affect this.

The EU is finished, either when the UK votes out or other countries demand the same rights the UK have.

This insane notion that States like Turkey, Greece, Germany, UK. Can all sit around a table and make one rule to fit all. Is crumbling. and anyone who thinks Turkey won't join is betting the EU falls first or mad.

The guy was mentally ill, he had bought a book on how to make a homemade gun years previously, had been a member of other extreme groups previously, and had sought help for his mental illness the day before he killed Jo Cox. The left wing press won't report any of that though, only the "Britain First" phrase.
