Gamers: Xbox One or PS4?
 

My 10yo son is confused over which one to get for his birthday and I told him I would consult the GO FUCK YOURSELF message board for wisdom! lol

Neither, play in the real world.

I have both...may the ps4, but games with gold is better than psplus.

xbox one is easier for me

I like Xbox better, but wait - don't buy anything yet. Microsoft is about to release a brand new version of the XBox One. That may mean that Sony's about to release a new PS4 as well.

Ps4 has sold around double of the xbox one because it is a better console. If he is ten years old you might want to consider a gaming pc. I got one recently and glad i did. I dont play games with a keyboard and mouse. You just buy a wired xbox 360 controller, plug it in and it just works like a console. No messing about plus he has a pc to use if he doesnt have one already.

Not true, it sold double the amount because the Playstation has been around way longer than the xbox and has a much larger fanbase, plus the whole of Asia is using playstations.

I had the playstation years back but switched to xbox 360 and now the Xbox one.. I just like the look and feel better just like i prefer an iphone over a samsung phone.. Oh and the voice recognition is much better on xbox one.. Playstation has way more games though, not saying more quality games but def much more developers for sony's platform.

I thought the xbox 360 was better than the ps3 last gen but this gen its the ps4. Microsoft made all sorts of problems for themselves before the console was even released. Restrictions on playing used games, Kinect came with the console and not without, then removing it when they knew it was crap. Still glad i have moved over to PC from consoles though.

If your kid likes Minecraft (like mine do), go for the XBox One. It's still better on the computer, but my kids also love playing split screen mode on the XBox. That's what tipped the scales for me. XBox also has Robox, Goat Simulator, and a ton more in their online game center.

PC... anyone on a console is not a GAMER... just retards.

Yeah I heard about these rumors back when the one was released and if those were true i wouldn't buy a one cause I buy a lot of used games..

But I can tell your from experience that playing used games is not a problem on the One.. Kinect I don't know, don't really use it.

And yeah of course the PC ownes the consoles but lets be real here, a console you buy and your good to go for years to come.. A pc you will have to upgrade almost yearly for lots of $$$ to be able to play the newest games in the highest res. Not to mention that if you really want a true gaming pc its going to set you back a couple of thousand $$

You can build a decent PC for 500$ no monitor just like the consoles. 200$ gpu-s kick ass nowadays...

XBOX ONE ALLLL THE WAY!!! PS4 may have a better operating system but microsoft (and the Xbox One) have better games, technical support, and better controllers :)

if online play is important then get him what his friends have so they can play together

Get both, then upgrade the one he likes the best to one of the new models due out next year.

Thats true for traditional HD and with games with less requirements. But if you wanna play decently in Ultra HD you need costly hardware for PC. Graphic setup alone, SLI or high-end cards, is more than 500 bucks. PS4 is just plug and play.

Apple will release versions for both companies soon.

The only thing I don't like about Xbox are the constant software updates, just like Windows. Nothing sucks more than sitting down to play a game than to have to wait while it updates. Then again I'm sure PS4 is similar.

Regardless, now is NOT the time to buy a new console. Wait until both MS and Sony release the new platforms or until they start supporting VR. I'm just guessing but I think Sony is probably far ahead of MS on this. I wouldn't be surprised if we see VR versions in time for the Christmas season. I plan to test the hell out of both before buying. Whoever can give me GTA5 (or GTA6) in VR gets my moolah.

That and it takes 30 minutes or more to install a friggin game. What's the point of the DVD if it has to download the whole thing anyway? Just copy protection? smh

I love my PS4 but not been playing much these days. Had way too much other shit going on recently...

xbox one with kinect

As well as nobody mentioned that PC is something you would (most likely) buy/have in any case. So the real question if how much extra would you spend on it tom make it gameable.

I had a PS4 and LOVED the exclusive games on it, plus there's more great exclusives coming up still this year. My kids and most of my friends have Xbox One, so I sold my PS4 and jumped to Xbox One, which is nice because I can now actually play games with people I know, HOWEVER, there's really no must have exclusives on the Xbox One and I miss my PS4 :(
