FEC Report : 20% of Trump?s campaign spending goes to Trump businesses & Paying Trump

Donald Trump?s campaign is almost broke, and is paying an unusual amount of money to Trump-owned businesses. That?s according to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee?s FEC filing, details of which were released Monday night.

The report provided a number of rather shocking facts, including that his campaign raised just $3.1 million in May compared to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton?s $27 million.

Furthermore, the filing suggests that Trump himself is drawing a salary from the campaign, which would be highly unusual.

In comparison, Mitt Romney?s campaign raised $86.5 million in May during the 2012 presidential race. And on Monday night alone, Clinton raised about $1.6 million at a celebrity-studded fundraiser in New York City.

Another eyebrow-raising tidbit: Of the $6.7 million the Trump campaign spent in May, nearly 20% went to Trump-owned businesses or family members. FULL STORY: 20% of Donald Trump's campaign spending goes to Trump businesses, filing says - MarketWatch

I think paying himself to run for POTUS is ballsy haha I don't have a problem with any of the expenses that I've seen, they seem reasonable.

The big thing for me is that Romney, at this same point in his campaign, raised over $86 million compared to Trumps poultry $6 million. Ouch!

He's added $2.1 million to his campaign loan, making the LOAN to his campaign a total of $45.3 million.

Trump continuously says he's self funding and donates money to his campaign. FEC records show he's never donated to his campaign. He's been asked a number of times when he's going to convert the LOAN to an actual donation, he refuses to answer hahaha.

You can be sure the big donors don't want to contribute because they know the first $45 million will go directly into Trumps pocket lol

SuckOnThis 06-21-2016 11:25 AM

His gullible dumbass supporters are paying his and his kids salaries.

Shit just keeps getting more hilarious.

Joshua G 06-21-2016 11:25 AM

so trump should stay at someone elses hotel, just to avoid criticism from GFY short bus club.

:1orglaugh

tards, just this once, i will anoint you with enlightenment.

according to the link...trump took in 3.1 million in donations...6.7 million in spending for the 31 days of may.

what does this mean? he is "spending" money at trump properties with a pool of money that is both from the donations, & from the very trump properties that are sending invoices. after all, 3.1 million of donations does not cover 6.7 million in spending. a first grader knows this, but not lib-tards.

your not "making" any money when the money coming in comes from your own pocket. Lib-tards are attacking him for ghost profits that dont exist.

class dismissed. back on the short bus.

MaDalton,

He is not really self funding at all.

In the past he claimed to be self funding, but instead he was really "loaning" his campaign the money - which means eventually it will have to be paid back. And while he boasted he was self funding, the truth is he was taking in donations.

As it stands now, the money you "donate to his campaign" goes DIRECTLY into Trump's pocket. You donate money to his campaign, his campaign pays rent to Trump, and Trump will be sure to write that off his taxes too.

Who is crooked now?

Its legal to utilize your own businesses, I would too. He's smart for doing that.

The problem is Trump has lied on his taxes in the past and been found guilty on appeal twice, over two different returns. He's just too greedy and can't seem to help getting caught over and over again.

Hannes 06-21-2016 01:11 PM

he needs to make money off everything including politics, wow great going trump. ( no sarcasm intended) :winkwink:

It shouldn't be. And no matter what this looks horrible. He's trying to paint Hillary as being "crooked" while taking donation money and putting it directly into his pocket. He is not even trying to hide it.

I'm really big on utilizing all legal options, except "user uploaded content".

The thing is we know Trump is gonna cook the books and overbill, it's what he does, and that's wrong.

$1.4 million was spent in Trump Businesses. Makes sense if he has to stay in a hotel, he might as well stay in one of his.

Trump will come out of this as a loser and showing a profit. :thumbsup

Good point. Maybe the FEC should be looking at what those bills actually bought.

Where is the profit when the expenditures are double income? Is that Trump university math?

SuckOnThis 06-22-2016 07:06 AM

$360,000 spent on his own hats. Charges his campaign $24.95 per hat which cost less than $2 to produce.

Trumps thrown another con job at the American people and the gullible still defends him. :1orglaugh

dyna mo 06-22-2016 07:30 AM

I certainly hope no one thinks that simply pointing out that when liabilities exceed assets 2-1, there is no profit and that it would make zero sense for a real estate guy to go lease real estate from another real estate guy.

None of which has jack shit to do with Trump.

Just want to clarify that so the liberal lynch mob doesn't high5 over murdering me.
