Cam Gurus: Average Time For Free Signup To Convert to Sale?

For all of the cam site operators on GFY, what is the average time that it takes for a free signup to make a purchase in 2016?

At what point would you say "if it hasn't converted within this amount of time, it probably never will"?

Sorry for making a business related post. :winkwink:

a few years.

depends how you market your site, of course it takes longer if you market it as "free" and attract all
those 3rd world freeloaders who couldn't pay even if they wanted to...

Freeloaders in countries where there is no billing should not change the time it takes for a free signup to convert to a purchase. Cam site operators can just remove all free signups that never converted from the stats. They would still be able to run a report to show how long an average free signup takes to convert to a sale.

hope you have plenty of time, money and patience.

41 days average from sign up to first purchase for those that buy. But that is misleading.

On the stats I checked I have 51% of buyers buying on the day they sign up but of the 498 buyers I had listed the overall average is 41 days.

This was based on 387,964 users of which 12,439 (3.2%) signed up and of those 498 (4%) actually spent money.

That is really interesting information, thank you.

What is says is that at least half of users signup with the intent to make a purchase. 66.28% of users have made a purchase within seven days after signing up. Judging by these numbers, you should be able to get a good idea of traffic quality on the first day, and certainly by the 8th day. If less than 50% of your new signups are resulting in sales, then the quality is lower than average, at least the average in your system.

Are those email confirmed signups or all free signups, if you don't mind answering?

Thanks again.

I came up with the number of 55days on average (calculating from my stats)

Barry-xlovecam 06-26-2016 12:17 PM

Most users that signup WHO WILL BUY will do so within a 3-10 day period is what I have always seen. Globally, of 1000's of new users ...

The ones that do not buy in that window never buy in most cases.

The ratios are like the proverbial 'piece of string' -- not relevant except to the individual.

These stats are "Super" helpful. Thanks for posting.

I was hoping you might have some insight. Your data matches up with the previously posted stats that show the first 8 days being the point where most users who are going to spend money will have done so. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the great insight guys.

But since I'm so new to cams (I'm @ 164 signups) , I'm not sure what to make of the insights you've provided a far as the implications on an affiliate's income from promoting cams.

I was gonna write out a long post but I will just cut to the chase...

What ball park income can a cam affiliate expect from generating 12,000 free signups?

Are we talking sports cars and vacations in the Greek Islands or are we talking a good work-from-home income that replaces a 9-5 job -- or is it part-time money that helps pay the bills? :helpme

Of those 500 buyers Im sure you have some whales in there. :thumbsup

bns666 06-27-2016 06:46 AM

just don't pre-sell it as "free" and you will filter out buyers from non-buyers.

it's a numbers game and you have to shift it in direction of sales, free signup means nothing if it never converts.

Barry-xlovecam 06-27-2016 06:47 AM

Free Signups and Paid in Sales can vary greatly.

It's like fishing -- were you are in the sea is EVERYTHING.

If I get 1000 free signup from 3rd tier type countries i might get a sale or two.

The other problem with Freemium type sites is that the cams are medium to hardcore for free -- why buy?
Some in time feel guilt I think -- they want to contribute to the wank-a-thon too, be an important contributor.

It is a buyer that I am not that familiar with.

I personally have gotten 1:28 paid in conversions with XloveCam with super traffic -- like 3 signups then 1 sale. I have had worse results too -- like 0:256 on the same traffic -- WTF?

I have seen some affiliates convert 1:100 and some 1:400 -- then some 0:2000.

How long is the piece of string?
