Crackrevenue (or rogue employee) fuck you for

selling my email address to Russians... or getting hacked. When I sign up to a program I always use "programname"@mydomain.com I was on holiday, maybe there is a thread here somewhere already, but for a few of weeks I've been receiving hundreds of spam to [email protected] It could be a lucky guess but with info@ or contact@ not flooded only crakrev@ it is very very unlikely :321GFY

If you use a unique email address for each program what's the issue? Hacking or spamming happens, just delete the email account, create a new one to replace it and update your crak account.

If it happens again then perhaps there's an issue that needs reporting and you should contact them directly, but no need to shit yourself in public over something that takes seconds to resolve.

Sheesh!

I use a different email prefix I don't make hundreds of different accounts. So no it is not fixed in seconds. Selling their affiliates email address' for pennies with the security risk it involves to anyone making money online is worth saying in public. My main inbox got so flooded I missed days of emails while traveling.

Who are you to say what is important to me?

If you don't like this thread fine GTFO plenty of Trump/Brexit/Aliens out there :2 cents:

Wouldn't expect less from some of the biggest scumbags in this business.

Is it crap like this:

From: Velvet Barrows - I don't mind if you're single 570-919-0309 or not, ...

From: Shaun Coons - Hey, can we go out for a quick love act? sms 1-717...

From: [email protected] - Good Morning :) how did it come about?

From: Padraig - Howdy, Ive got new personal item for you text me 1...

I have been getting lots of dating scam e-mails in my crak linked email account. Just wondering if that's it.

j3rkules 07-01-2016 07:24 AM

Nothing new really, other sponsors are doing the same.

ladida 07-01-2016 07:56 AM

Maybe next time you'll use a special hash decryption + salt technique and this won't happen eh OP?

Yeah I was getting the same kind of shit! So I had to change my Support@ emails which only appear in the Mem Areas. So maybe a disgruntled ex-Member....but what a pain. Also, anything with an attachment is more than likely a virus so DO NOT OPEN ANYTHING.

I wish. It's hundreds of emails an hour, in Russian, French, English.... about anything.

Last five minutes : Kansascityradio, German silver jewelry, Hot summer sales, Food babbles recipes, 30% off tablets, Hotel in France, Russian stuff, etc, etc

All sent to an address I ONLY gave Crakrevenue.

bns666 07-01-2016 11:29 AM

didn't they have security problems recently?

woj 07-01-2016 11:44 AM

setup filter, [email protected], action=delete

what happened is still not cool, but no reason to get stressed over... would be 100x worse if they were mailing your main account...

Yeah they are not only sponsor which e-mail database gets hacked/sold/whatever, not worthy to bother with it. Tho, some sponsors which buys suchs databases are putting things to new level - i got a e-mail from one sponsor "informing" me how they moved to new platform and they giving me new username and password, and i quite sure how i never signup to that sponsor, especially since it arrived to my old e-mail adress which i dont use for years and sponsor is new, and also in e-mail none of my personal information is mentioned which clearly shows how they stole/bought wm email database(but not wm personal information as well).

:thumbsup :2 cents: not only this ..if you use strong language with support because someone is so stupid , they are butt hurt . suddenly they will stop replaying doesn't matter if you are correct or not.

fuzebox 07-01-2016 12:38 PM

I guarantee they did not sell your email to anyone, and are not spamming you. It is coincidental or a hack.

I'l say, if you receive generic spam, then it's hacked. If you receive targetted spam, like invite to signup to other program, then it's sold.

Why on fucking earth would you give them a new email address to sell or abuse? They are a waste of time bunch of scumbags.

mineistaken 07-01-2016 06:09 PM

If they are shady enough to fund piracy sites, they are shady enough to sell your emails as well.

This is news to me WOW! Thanks :thumbsup

doeser 07-01-2016 08:35 PM

Some weeks ago I got the same, it was to hide the notification for a changed paxum mail in the crak-account, within 6k spam mails.
So check your account details over there, would be a loss of $500 if I hadn't detected that.

A message to their support gave no answer at all.

rowan 07-02-2016 11:29 AM

Another possibility - they used a 'doze mail client to contact an affiliate (such as the OP) on an infected PC. There exists malware which scans the databases of common email clients, and phones home all email addresses it finds.

I've just received spam which is addressed to a unique address I use for Paypal, and it even had the full name of my business in the "To" field. I have little doubt this data was scraped from the email client of one of the merchants I have paid over the years, but without their knowledge, or consent.

NatalieK 07-03-2016 05:14 AM

Hope you get this problem sorted. FYI, my account's ok with them, no spam here :2 cents:

There is no benefit to them to sell your emails, so no, it is not the same as accepting an unpopular traffic source.

I am not saying it is the same, I am just saying it would not be surprising knowing their business "ethics".

I know it's 2016, but surely a set of adult webmaster emails would still have some value.

candyflip 07-04-2016 03:06 PM

Notice non of the people they have posting here bothered to address this thread? They just ignore it and hope it goes away.

I think they have better things to do EX: get their affiliate payment out :thumbsup ! Kudo to them if they stay out of the BS going on around here. :)

CR have always been great to deal with, IMO. No spam here either.
