Just discovered the .99 cent store.
 

Dollar store parking lot is usually a mix of crappy cars and nice cars. People who need to shop at the dollar store, and people who are smart with their money and choose to shop there.

According to various news articles, these stores have been kicking Walmart's butt. Almost one on every corner. Prices on things like toilet paper cheaper than WallyWorld. No huge parking lot to hike through. Shelves stocked. There have been reports of empty shelves at Wally, as they won't give staff hours, to avoid medical insurance kicking in. No long checkouts, where WallyWorld has dozens of people, with full carts, trying to checkout with 1 or 2 cashiers.
Walgreens kicks their butt with 24x7x365 pharmacy and actually lower prices on some meds.
AND none of those "people of Walmart" shopping in what must be Halloween costumes worn by 300+# women

I usually go and buy cheap earbuds for 99c lol. that way when I destroy them while outside I can break out another cheap pair

the products are exactly the same quality as the products from a regular store.

it's called over stock items. they produce so much they cant shelve it. instead of destroying it they take a smaller profit.

maybe you buy clothes too.

Credits to those who are smart and saves money. In a whole year it really adds up.

A few years ago I heard from a middle aged woman who said to me: "Oh I would never set my foot in that store". I lol'd silently...

But the quantity you get for 99 cents is 1/3, 1/5, 1/10 the one at target.

In the UK I use them for dog chews, plus a few other things.

BUT

One thing, sometimes you can buy the same item cheaper in the supermarket.

I usually buy , paint brushes, trays, tarps, work gloves, holiday decor,
then toss em when they finished their purpose :thumbsup

Yeah we call them pound shops in the UK. Usually see signs on the windows saying " Where mutants shop without judgement ". Its only a PPOOOUUNNDDD!!

I don't go to that store but I did go inside of a .99 cent store back when I was living in California. They had some good deals, but most of the products are not so good and the food is awful for you!

I go in there when I need wrapping paper or gift bags. Best to avoid anything you ingest lol
