shooter was given a chance to turn himself in. seems like he made the choice to die at the scene. his wishes were granted and no more cops lives were endangered by going in to get him. i think the average person has nothing to fear unless they have decided to risk their life committing these types of crimes. nothing fascist or racist, just common sense.

in tempe Az they have a machine that scans your car for tickets and notify the nearest police officer. 5 years or so ago they were testing a device in mesa,Az that can see in your vehicle without having to search. it's like that shit in that movie last action hero. they can see through your walls at home.

If they have him recorded saying what he did and why AND if he was cornered where any cop coming in to apprehend was in grave danger I would be fine with a manned robot armed coming in and shooting to maim.

If they recorded him saying he had a bomb, then they were fair in blowing him up. Too risky shooting then sending in bomb squad etc.

in a car park i would of thought the best solution would of been to strap explosives to the roof of the floor below and blow him out but in any case they did what they needed to do.

What's to understand? The guy was a garden variety nut. As for his motivation, he already stated as much to the negotiators.

Taking him out not only prevented additional loss of life, it ensured that the rest of us will be spared the otherwise inevitable Dr Phil interview with that nut.

No matter if the guy was the worst killer ever. What the cops did in Dallas using this explosive robot, has set a extremely dangerous precedent. Other police depts will now seek out this kind of device and it will get used more and more..

Next thing you know it will be like raiding offices and other non violent targets with SWAT teams which has also become standard practice. Cops have shown time and time again, when they get new toys they find ways to use them.

Those who cheer this action and ok it away are not thinking very far ahead.. Next it will be micro drones as technology advances and the cops will be OK'd to be judge,jury and executioner..

Cops are not hired to blow people up or shoot them dead. They are hired to serve and protect..even the bad guys.

This is very true and it's one of the reasons I troll on Texas so hard. They are the first ones to run their mouths about freedom, yet most people there have no clue what freedom is.

In my experience Florida and Texas are two of the worst nanny states in the union. The cop to civilian ratios are way out of whack in those states compared to most of states I've visited or lived in.

Where there is cops, there will be crimes to find. These states that have no state tax have to make up the money in other ways. It's very clear in both state the so called justice system is a tax on the people living there.

If cops aren't being sent out for disturbances or writing tickets then they aren't needed.. It's pretty easy to see where that leads..

Also notice, both states are filled with private for profit prisions.
