seems like a good idea fucking scum coward murdering police
|
Don't see a problem with it...except now we have no idea about the motive....so far
|
The assailant did not comply with the robot's orders and reached for his gun. The robot had no choice but to blow him up.
|
Don't really care how he died only that they got him.

Not a lot of thinking in this thread. Sending in a remote bomb is a really big fucking deal and no one thinks Fascism is a threat? If you don't see what is happening, you'll never know what hit you. Should have studied harder in high school, at least those of you that didn't drop out.
|
shooter was given a chance to turn himself in. seems like he made the choice to die at the scene. his wishes were granted and no more cops lives were endangered by going in to get him. i think the average person has nothing to fear unless they have decided to risk their life committing these types of crimes. nothing fascist or racist, just common sense.

Did they try sending in flash bombs, smoke bombs, tear gass with no success? If they have him recorded saying what he did and why AND if he was cornered where any cop coming in to apprehend was in grave danger I would be fine with a manned robot armed coming in and shooting to maim. If they recorded him saying he had a bomb, then they were fair in blowing him up. Too risky shooting then sending in bomb squad etc. Also, Texas sucks and the forces there are very militarized. Republicans have created an evil nanny state there with an overbearing police presence for financial gain. Residence there know if you fuck with the police you'll be overly punished. |
The media/administration will try their best to obscure the shooters ties to BLM and other radical groups. Instead they will focus on his military experience and the gun control narrative.

Good, the guy deserved to die.
Next they'll be using drones with bombs. |
The ideas of sending in a robotic IED is repugnant.
And explains how we came to this ... |

If a sniper is shooting at cops; cops need to shoot back to kill and fuck any phsycobabble. |
They probably looked at it this way...the shooter had already killed 5 officers and had expressed his desire to kill more. If they could kill him without risking the life of another cop then it was a good move.
After 5 men down, they really couldn't or shouldn't have risked one more to attempt a take down of someone with obvious tactical skills. Just obliterate his ass. |

Welcome to the future!

Justice has been served ! :thumbsup
Sorry for 5 police officers :( :Oh crap |
That's actually pretty bad ass. Right out of a sci-fi movie. Now, if they start sending in explosive-packed robots for weed busts at 5 am we're all fucked.

I am AWESOME-O

its quite interesting however i think you are probably overstating the technology here
a bomb strapped to a remote control car with a camera mounted on the front? only problem now is that any nutter who trys the same thing again will realise this and shoot any robot which comes close. in a car park i would of thought the best solution would of been to strap explosives to the roof of the floor below and blow him out but in any case they did what they needed to do. |

Taking him out not only prevented additional loss of life, it ensured that the rest of us will be spared the otherwise inevitable Dr Phil interview with that nut. |

Next thing you know it will be like raiding offices and other non violent targets with SWAT teams which has also become standard practice. Cops have shown time and time again, when they get new toys they find ways to use them. Those who cheer this action and ok it away are not thinking very far ahead.. Next it will be micro drones as technology advances and the cops will be OK'd to be judge, jury and executioner.. The people who think this was ok use of force are the same people who think NSA spying is ok to save them from terrorist.. meanwhile not a single attack has ever been stopped by the NSA spying. Yet we are all treated as terrorists and spied on.. Cops are not hired to blow people up or shoot them dead. They are hired to serve and protect..even the bad guys. Pretty soon all you nimrods with your guns will be out gunned by drones and your guns will be useless because cops will just take you out while having a doughnut and coffee sitting in a truck somewhere looking at a computer screen. You either get the govt and cops in check now or your future is sealed to an Orwellinton fate. Technology has advanced to a point where a person taking a stand will never have a chance again in the near future be that person be in the right or wrong.. |

In my experience Florida and Texas are two of the worst nanny states in the union. The cop to civilian ratios are way out of whack in those states compared to most of states I've visited or lived in. Where there is cops, there will be crimes to find. These states that have no state tax have to make up the money in other ways. It's very clear in both state the so called justice system is a tax on the people living there. If cops aren't being sent out for disturbances or writing tickets then they aren't needed.. It's pretty easy to see where that leads.. Also notice, both states are filled with private for profit prisions. |
