National ID Cards Scheme to be Scrapped Within 100 Days - Theresa May
In the UK national ID cards have been discussed for over 10 years. They were supposed to be coming into effect this year with the first 5 million being issued and another 10 million for every year after.

ID Cards are a great thing. We have them in most European Countries. They identify the age of a person, real name, picture, nationality and citizen number.
Why not have them? Unless you're a criminal and have something to hide. UK politicians and bureaucrats hate the idea, so loaded the cards with so many costs. They were abandoned. A driving license can be used as an ID card. I use mine here. |
