Traffic are people and you have to please them to attract them.
We now know this and still, people insist they have the traffic as if they own it. They don't, they can only keep working hard to maintaining the attractions they have for these people. Loyalty is earned not given.
Tubes that works hardest at attracting surfers maintains the most people returning to their sites. Today they attract 99% of porn consumers. Because the consumers love them. The major Tubes dominate that sector. These are people who consume porn regularly, they're clicking on ads, they can be sold to because they buy from those ads. If they didn't buy a major part of the industry would die and a former major part would have a rebirth. As an avid lifelong porn consumer, it's easy to tell why some sites fail to convert porn consumers from ads on Tubes. The sites are second rate to the Tubes. And in essence selling the same product. A jerk off. Even if it's a live model. Recorded porn are obviously second rate to Tubes. Especially when the best paysites give their clips to Tubes. Traffic is easy to get and at $5 a 1,000 affordable if your product is better than what Tubes offer. Forget about those using Ad Blockers or not clicking. They're yesterday's customers. Even if you force them to land on your site, unless it has better content than where they left. They Ain't buying nothing. Concentrate on the curious seekers of a new level of porn, that's why most clicked. Concentrate on the content, the tour immediately grabbing their attention and converting them. Not waiting for someone to see something they like, as was the previous model. A well-aimed stone will have more effect than a handful of sand. That's what marketing is about. The surfers have just left a site with 10,000 of porn clips of all nature, a mass of free jerk off scenes. Don't present them with 10s of paid for jerk off scenes of the same level. Or you'll find they will go back to where they came from sadder but wiser. Wiser that clicking on a link is a waste of time. Compare CTR in 2000 to today. Lastly, this is 101 marketing. I don't need to be a webmaster, affiliate, paysite, webcam or Tube site advertiser to know it. The same rules apply to marketing and selling any product. |
A bump for opinions.

There is no price less than free.
Yet Youtube, Netflix, Cable, public television and movie studios still do billions of dollars a month, in aggregate as ''entertainment'', in spite of the fair and unfair competition -- don't they? There is a seat for every ass :2 cents: Ever play musical chairs as a boy Paul? There is one less chair than number of players and when the music is over ... |

Traffic is very complicated and nuanced. You're addressing traffic in a very broad & vague way.

I agree, there's no price less than free. This proves my point that people are pleased with the free tubes and it's killing most of the recorded porn biz. What effect are free cam sites having to your cam studio model? Are girls going freelance of free cam sites, are the girls earning more money in that system, are the people going to these sites? chaturbate.com - Alexa Rank History xlovecam.com - Alexa Rank History Whether they are buying on Pornhub or Chaturbate is irrelevant, they're there and not on other sites. Looking at most camsites I see models who are overworked, distant and bored. Except on Chaturbate, they were interacting with viewers. And viewers are pleased, so flock there. This is to everyone. Traffic are people and you have to please them to attract them. For too long the number one person in the business has been the affiliate. Customers, product producers, site owners and the rest were second to the demands of the affiliates. The problem was you can't herd them. Nor keep, control, excite, lead or anything else, without a product they like. Earliest stats proved that. For every one click, there could have been 5-10 people not interested enough to click, for every 100 clicks a sale would come, depending on the years and most importantly the product. That's a real conversion rate of 1-500 to a 1,000. The reason was simple, only a handful of sites could afford to produce a product good enough to bring that rate down. Today sites have to put the surfer first or he isn't going to stay or come back. And before anyone replies with the content I produced. It was good enough for a market that paid more than online will and the online sites were happy to swallow up anything so long as it was cheap enough. I made more out of $10 sets than most custom shooters made out of a whole scene. I'm a marketing man playing to my audience. :1orglaugh |

Which is why it's impossible for a marketing man to give a "One fits all" answer to every situation. On an open board it's hard to teach people how to market their product. All that can be offered are general rules like the customer comes first, find what he really needs, find what he can't get, etc. When I was selling I spent hours talking to a client about his business. I couldn't sell anything until I knew what he needed. Online it's harder so one has to approach it differently. What we know is he doesn't need to pay to jerk off. A marketing professional will want to know what are the resources a client has that can be used to attract more sales? Then marketing becomes targeted, direct and effective. |
