LOL! Ted Cruz booed after refusing to endorse Donald Trump

Ted Cruz booed.

Ted Cruz booed after refusing to endorse Donald Trump - CNNPolitics.com

What a total, total mess.

And listen to the interviews afterwards with Christie and Cohen. Just fucking insane.

Update: Cruz stands by his snub.

Defiant Ted Cruz stands by refusal to endorse Donald Trump after being booed during convention speech - CNNPolitics.com

Good for Cruz, actually. Good.

nico-t 07-21-2016 10:14 AM

Good for Trump. Cruz is a 100% creepy establishment puppet.

Joshua G 07-21-2016 10:16 AM

110% guaranteed - cruz will be voted out of the senate in a landslide. his federal political career ended last night, he'll just be the last to figure it out.

its actually a win for trump if you think it through, as he remains the outsider, which is his selling point.

:)

Cruz swallowed the poison pill. I'm sure he thought he would walk the line and set himself up for 2020 or 2024, but he has just walked the political plank.

At least he went out his way though. His senior aides begged him not to do it. He did it the way he wanted.

Barry-xlovecam 07-21-2016 11:24 AM

10% Libertarian Party -- Gary Johnson
5% for the Green Party -- Jill Stein
^ last poll I saw :)

Why doesn't Cruz follow suit?
Bernie too?

Trump and Hillary are just a least worst contest. Same shit new day.

This message has been brought to you by party politics as usual :upsidedow

I hate Cruz, but you know what? It was cool of him to snub Trump. Trump insulted him and even his wife. I hope Trump was butthurt.

And yes of course Cruz gambled and hoped it would help pave the way to 2020. I think it backfired, but maybe not for long. Cruz will most definitely take another run at it.

He at minimum pissed off half the republican primary voters, and likely some of his own supporters. The Texas delegation who were his delegates were LIVID last night and remained so today. He will run again, his ego won't let him not. But he won't sniff the party nomination again. He is Jeb Bush/Chris Christie to the primary voters now. Its over.

Trump is not butt hurt at all. He let Cruz hang himself. And Trump comes out on top for it. He gets more people united for the cause than before Cruz spoke. And he even got to troll him in the arena by coming out early and taking the spotlight of Cruz.

If Trump loses the election all the "booers" will say Cruz was right.

You are right. I think this is a big nothing for Trump. It didn't even phase him.

kane 07-21-2016 12:46 PM

I might be in the minority here, but I don't think he hurt himself much at all. It's 2 years before he is up for re-election. By then many people will have forgotten his slight of Trump, plus a lot of his supporters love that he acts like a "maverick."

If Trump wins he might have a more difficult time, but if Trump loses then few people that support him will care if he failed to endorse the guy who ended up losing to the woman who was under investigation for most of her campaign.

nah man. trump is vindictive, takes things personal. this will not go unanswered, mark my words.

regardless if he wins the presidency, trump will put resources into a primary alternative to cruz, & will likely campaign for the opponent.

that strategy will be far more successful when he becomes president. trump is facing hilary for the white house, so its a given he will beat her.

he just has to avoid getting shot. :2 cents:

General election voters won't remember this. Primary voters most certainly will. These are the die hard political base. They don't forget. He hung himself last night.

The only question I have is how it effects his Senate re-election run if he gets challenged in the primary. If he doesn't get challenged, obviously he wins re-election.

MaDalton 07-21-2016 01:11 PM

after all the insults from Donald against him and his father, i would have been surprised if he had endorsed him - pledge or not. So somewhere deep down in his body there is a tiny bit of spine left.

but i was surprised to see him on the speaker list

Don't get me wrong. When I say he didn't hurt himself that bad I mean in regards to his Senate seat. I think he will win re-election there. I don't think he will ever be President and I felt that way before this happened.

The biggest thing that hurts him with his senate seat is if Trump loses. Cruz proclaims he is all about the constitution. Always talks about how the court is becoming activist and left. And then when the next President is set to select 1 and possibly 3 Supreme Court justices, he doesn't do everything he can to make sure a Republican wins the White House.

Breaking the pledge and his word is whatever. Politicians do it all the time.

If Hillary wins and the Court is forever gone to activist left judges, the people of Texas might be swift in their rebuke. That will be a fun primary to watch at the very least.

Me too. Trump wiped is ass with Chris Christie, and you saw how much Christie kissed his ass despite the fact, and did so again even after he was teased with a possible VP pick, but get fucked over again.

Somewhere, deep down in Cruz, the man grew a pair. I still hate him, but I would at least compliment him on this.

I think what all the other republicans did was tasteless. Call Trump dangerous, narcissist, unfit for office, threat to world peace, etc, and then turn around and suck his cock like some little bitch hoping for some cabinet position.

Yea, never mind the fact that the 'establishment' you whine about in every other post is propping Trump up like their newest thoroughbred. :1orglaugh
