what did or does your daddy do?

you in the family business?

my Daddy was a photographer in the navy, started in WWII, my mom a photographer in the navy for the Korean police action. that's where they met...

I never in a million years ever thought I would be a professional photographer :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

My dad was a radio-electronics technician and specialist in radar systems, air traffic control systems and aviation message switching.

My mother was a school teacher, which sucked because when I was at school she'd correct my homework out of habit!

My dad was also an amateur radio and electronics enthusiast and I got that from him.

My father died when I was nine months old. It's very odd growing up without a father.

He's a high-school math/physics teacher

My dad worked for the CBC for 30+ years. He worked mostly on a camera crew as the VTR guy, but also worked at the studio in Master Control. They covered all the Winnipeg Jets games back in the 70's and 80's, he was sent to cover the Olympics in Montreal in '76 (which he brought me along with) and the Commonwealth Games in Edmo in '78.

He's 88 now and takes care of my ailing mom full time. Retired quite comfortably though. Plus he's a WW II Merchant Navy Vet.

During the Vietnam War my dad was stationed in Germany and had a loan shark racket.
After that he was an antique dealer and rental property owner for 35+ years.

My daddy went to Vietnam in the army and killed foreign people.
He got a lot of medals for it, so I joined the army too but there were no wars going on then
so I never killed any people like my dad did.

How would you know that unless you also grew up with a father to compare and contrast the similarities and differences of growing up without one?

What if you had grown up with an abuse drunk of a dad who beat your mom and sexually molested you? Would you be a better person for it?

Life is just what happens...second guessing it is impossible. :2 cents:

My father has an identical twin brother. I asked him one day what it was like being a twin? He replied "I dunno, whats it like not having a twin?" fair enough. lol

My father was a meteorologist, then a rec spec in the Cdn. Armed Forces. Then later in civilian life he got into youth work and became an Executive Director for Boys Clubs of Canada. Years later he went into the retail building supply...working his way up to store manager at two different companies.

Then had his own home renovation business before he finally retired.
