is the entire trump campaign a fraud?
i do wonder on this, & its worrisome.
his 2 big promises - build a wall, & redo trade. from detailed 20/20 dateline shows i seen on the subject, some of the border land is private property & the government cant build a wall on private property unless they seize it through emminent domain. then there is the rugged terrain, the river...doesnt seem like a full-on wall will happen. the liberal media will call him a failure for anything less than a great wall of china...his whole deportation scheme is a non-starter once the federal courts tie it up. hard to see how big picture stuff changes without a helpful congress. & on trade, he needs a cooperative congress. since 100% of the congress is for sale to big corporations that created the mess, its hard to see how he accomplishes this goal. He would need to build a centrist coalition amongst both parties, to marginalize the leadership of both sides. those centrists would need protection from the leaders, who control pork & lobby influence, & can influence elections back home. basically, trump would need a third party to protect congressional voters who oppose corporate lobbyists. & trump says nothing much about campaign finance reforms. used to sell the idea of self funding, but now he is seeking big donor contributions. what is he going to give away behind closed doors? loopholes in new trade deals? they wont give him millions to undermine their own interests. i smell a rat in this whole issue. if the senate doesnt completely dump the filibuster, trumps first 2 years will mirror obamas. less than expected gets done, the president gets blamed, & the mid-terms get ugly. They could be super-ugly for trump since he's never had establishment backing. vote for hilary? :helpme |

what i think the donald is doing, at an ivy league level, is recognizing whats ailing the people, in the headlines. he senses the public is unhappy with open borders & illegal immigrant crimes. the public does not like jobs going to mexico & china. the public is unhappy with the rise of ISIS, & the whole left wing angst over cops.
so he makes his trump shirts in china. but sells the voters the promise to make everything in USA. maybe he is a recent convert to populism, when free trade & gaming the system is how he made his fortune. he has never been above paying the clintons when he needs them. he is much better than clinton & all the republican primary candidates, at putting his ear to the public & making positions they will support. as a non-politician who donated to both parties, he has unique open canvas to craft positions without pandering to partisans. hence the capitalist is suddenly a populist. :2 cents: |
Trump will tell everyone it wasn't his fault these plans failed. The Wall Plan, as you point out, has obvious areas for it not getting started. There are easier ways to tackle illegal migration but he doesn't want that.
Trade is another plan built for failure. He could just impose high tariffs on imported goods from countries who don't buy enough US goods. Once the trade agreements have expired. Yes he's tapping into the frustration of people who can't see the obvious. |
Of course there won't be a wall, the point is that he will take at least harsher stance on immigrants than traitor Hilary who welcomes even illegals.
It is about the stance, the policy, not about actual wall. Actual wall is just to lure people who take things too literally. |
No one is ever going to build a wall. It would cost billions to build, billions to maintain and staff, and it would be completely ineffective.

There is already a wall, he might repair it

One night.... I was traveling from Phoenix to San Diego for a show. It was 2am and the freeway was empty - I think I was on the 8 not far from the border. There was not a car in sight so I decided to open up my car and finally see exactly what it could do. I had my car flat out at 150 mph and was holding it when all of a sudden in the distance the median suddenly light up with a dozen cop cars. I was like "Fuck, I'm busted again".
Turns out it was the border patrol and they all tore off across the freeway and into the desert. LOL. |

I also don't think people sneak across the border at night in numbers we think. Illegals drive across through a check point and just never go home. I am all for building a wall really. For me it's less of an immigration thing, and more of a security thing. We need to have our borders secure, and anyone caught in the country illegally should be thrown in jail - period. If you start locking up illegals for five years at a time, trust me, they'll stop coming. But if we build a wall it has to be an all out wall - like the Berlin wall. And every inch of it needs to be patrolled. |

I don't believe you're smart enough for either....but which one are you making an attempt at? You know, inside your stupid little mind what does it look like? |
