BTW ... Notice Backpage.com MASSIVE price increase?
 

Has anyone else noticed Backpage.com's massive price increase for adult advertising? Used to be that one could 'auto repost' for something like $1.50 for 24 reposts, $2.75 for 50 reposts, etc. Now the minimum for nearly every city is $4.00 for all of FOUR reposts. That's an increase of THOUSANDS of %. In addition, 'adding cities' pricing has quadrupled in many cases.

This is the problem when there is limited competition.

This *may* also have to do with reduced revenues because is Backpage being locked out of VISA Net.

Backpage was a copy-cat of Craigslist anyway with an AdsSense looking ad link element. Nothing particularly original except their openness to adult oriented business. Now they are pissing off their niche market with sky-high rate increases.

Recipe for failure IMHO
