Always been great to me - Sly is great to deal with, no stress hosting...

Vacares is great but Sly is always sexually harassing me with his inappropriate comments, like 'Pay your bill' and 'cron job'. Disgusting (but reliable).

Well, I'm still looking for a new host. Vacares sales team a little less than ethical. Kind of surprised me. Good to know.

So, if anyone else has any special offers for dedicated hosts, please post them here.

Sly's a great guy, I'd recommend 2 hosting companies, Vacares because of the service & adult-hosting.com because of the brilliant uptime & direct contact :thumbsup

Thanks for these recommendations. I'd go with Vacares too but the offer I originally went after, through The HUN, was canceled mid-stream. They decided somewhere in the middle of our discussion for the move to offer only 1 more server package @ $125. Ryan encouraged me to decide quickly. That's a Red Light in my book. Someone else got there first. So I and the sales team at Vacares wasted 2 weeks trying to get to yes.

So, Patrick (The Hun) and Rob (The Shemp), you may want to check and see if your offers are still working. I was told 3 days ago the 125$ package is now gone.

Now that I see I can do much better un-managed, gear and speed wise, I think I'll look for a part time admin instead. Pay them the difference and get 3X the server.

You can find server spec which you need for 20$ monthly, tho self-managed.

I get your point. Unless I find a server tech I may stay where I am at until the right host comes along.

Dedicated Servers - TempleNode Complete Hosting Solutions - anyone have experience with these guys?

That was not simply "in the middle of our discussion." It was a 16 day interaction where multiple times I followed up with you to help you close the deal. When we were running out of those servers, I followed up with you again to tell you that we were running out and would not be getting more. I also told you that those servers move quickly and if you wanted one, it would be best to close the deal as soon as you can.

Unfortunately, by the time you got back to me, the last server was gone. These things happen.

In regards to the website listing, The Hun, and the Shemp, those listings will be updated. We do not offer that server style anymore.

Loss/Loss. :2 cents: - I think if you are talking with a potential client, having made a sales offer to that client, you stick with the offer until business is closed or a customer relationship is established. Your change of business plans should not affect potential clients who have a support ticket open with you. But that's just me, a guy with customers going back to 2005 since the day we opened. And one who lives 3/4 way around the world from you.

Its okay at this point. I realize I need something more robust anyway.
