I am never moving house again. Ever.

Seriously, ever.

Well unless something nice comes up abroad. But as far as living here goes, i'm done... :helpme

I'm also going through another move. My house increased about $40k in Ontario so I'm moving to a smaller town to capitalize on the profit.

I think the area I'm in is about to hit a ceiling. Hopefully your reason is the same as mine. Baller;)

I am not sure why people have such issues with moving.

When I was younger I ran a "packing crew" for Mayflower moving. We would show up on a Monday, pack an entire house up into boxes, move it out on Tuesday, move in to a new location on Wednesday, and then unpack it on Thursday.

Even when we moved into this house we were pretty much unpacked in forty-eight hours.

Because nobody here does their job right.

We technically were homeless for 4 days because they made a mistake with our mortgage, and we had to move out on the Friday as planned, but had to wait till the Tuesday before our own had gone through. So we had to put shit in storage etc which should never have had to happen.

Now we are getting some major work done on the new house but again the people you pay here are so lazy and basically shitty at their jobs, nothing gets done right first time...

We've been thinking of puttin' our house on the market soon - prices here in Niagara are going through the roof. Bidding wars on property...sellers often getting $30k-$40k over their asking prices.

We're empty-nesters now...the house is way too big for our needs...and the stairs are tough on the wife's arthritis. So we may be lookin' for a bungalow.

But I hate moving, too. Spent my entire life moving...and got used to living here in the same place for the last 15 years. Still love the old house and property. But gotta think realistic and practical.

First world problems :1orglaugh

Seriously though, moving is a horrible painful exercise. Something always goes wrong.

That's kinda why we moved too. Previous house was too big, and being a town house had way too many stairs.

This one still has stairs but not half as much. And the views out the back are amazing thankfully...

What kind of workers in Canada are lazy? Are they migrant workers or just blue collar workers in general?

I've been thinking of making the move to Canada, or back to Australia, quality of life & cost of living are better than here in California by a long shot.

Where in Australia would you move to ?

Because I'm betting it costs a lot more to live in a major Australian city than in most of California.

I'm in the UK not Canada. I would move to Canada in a heartbeat though. Loved it there...

Hate moving with a passion. The real estate here is over priced .more and more people are moving because it's just too damn expensive to live here

yuu.design 08-01-2016 09:34 AM

getting to a new place time to time its something cool, but it gets harder when you start getting old :S

nikki99 08-01-2016 09:50 AM

me neither, I moved past year.... pain in the ass...

HowlingWulf 08-01-2016 10:12 AM

I must be odd because I like moving. Long distance move - not same town move.
Get rid of the crap I no longer use and start again in a new place with new opportunities.

Best part of moving is definitely the purging.

Same here. Gave everything away when we moved to Australia and moved there with 3 bags on the plane, same thing moving back with the addition of 2 hairless dogs :thumbsup

Why is everyone moving to Niagra? Do they think it's VIAGRA? :)

Seriously, what's the appeal and why is everyone moving up there?
