Beware of MrSkin: they will screw you over and keep your money

I had been promoting MrSkin Cash for a few years before this bunch of crooks screwed me over and kept my money.

I think it happened because i stopped sending them much traffic. So they decided to terminate my account under bullshit pretenses so that they wouldn't have to pay me for rebills anymore.

What happened is that one day they emailed me and told me that they were closing my account because of some DMCA complain. They told me that I was using some other celebrity content to promote them (on some old thumb gallery from years ago), and not their content exclusively, and that there was a DMCA complaint sent to them. Which is bullshit because I had my contact info prominently displayed on my websites and never received anything. So I asked them to show me that DMCA complaint. They started to pussyfoot around, told me that my domains were in violation because they contained "skin" in their name. They told me to hand the domains over. I transferred the domains to them because I didn't want to lose money, but they still won't unlock my account and now stopped all correspondence.

Anyway, MrSkin are a bunch of scumbags who will find any bullshit reason to close your account so that they can keep the rebills money.

Friendly advice, stay away from these assholes.

CaptainHowdy 08-02-2016 01:33 PM

Sorry to hear that, man ...

Google Expert 08-02-2016 01:38 PM

Hopefully this will get resolved
I've heard a lot of good things about them

DVTimes 08-02-2016 02:12 PM

I promote mrskin and they pay no problem.

Korban 08-02-2016 02:12 PM

Damn, this sucks.

If you're looking for a new celeb program try these guys TabloidDollars

It's invite only (you have to email them) but if you can send a few sales per day, the conversion ratios are fantastic.

Tell em Jimmy sent ya.

Bladewire 08-02-2016 02:15 PM

DMCA "on some old thumb gallery from years ago"

What's the URL you got the DMCA for, and what celebrity?

I had no problems while I had been sending them traffic. Once i stopped, they decided they didn't want to pay me for rebills.

Any webmaster who is promoting celebs uses all kinds of celebs content. From news, blogs, etc etc. To stick exclusively to one programs content is retarded. Anyway, as soon as they emailed me, i took down all content in question. But they don't care cause they were just looking for an excuse to not pay.

I transferred the domain to them because of their threats.

Celeb name was Jolene Blalock, but they never showed me a copy of DMCA. (i dont think there ever was one. All dmca's usually get sent to hosting, not sponser)

Google Expert 08-02-2016 02:33 PM

What does terminating an account have to do with a DMCA report? They don't own any content, they "borrow" it themselves from all over the place

Some TM owners dont bother to DMCA website owner or hosting, they go straight to ISP or google or someone else involved.

I've heard people ask me about MrSkin and copyright issues.

I've always dismissed them as one of those who ride piggyback on others and don't care about copyright.

It actually falls under fair use. Since they have bios and descriptions/reviews of the pics/movie clips that is considered as fair use.

My understanding is that in all these years they have never been sued and some movie companies actually send them videos and screengrabs as a way of promoting their movie.

thanks , but was asking the op if this true story or not.

why movie companies don't do anything about it ?

Far-L 08-02-2016 07:21 PM

Movie companies love Mr. Skin and for good reason. They keep people interested in catalog titles that would otherwise be forgotten. The free promo on Stern doesn't hurt either.

By the sound of it OP, you were in violation of their terms. They chose to can you for it. Get over it or get on the right side of the terms and work it out. People that have made money with them for years by not being in violation of terms aren't going to change just because you wanted to grouse on gfy about them.

L O L exactly what I was thinking when I read the op. Imagine being banned by the sponsor that "borrows" content for "borrowing" content.

Either way the affiliate should get paid out. Unless of course there is more to the story, which there always is in these types of cases.

You're the biggest self describes ANONYMOUS know it all. I'd say if you're vouching for anything you "know", it's shady as all fuck unless a lot of others vouch the same. You have such a shady jaded history here it's not good for someone if you vouche for them.

I did try to work it out. As soon as I got notice i puled down all content. Apologized, asked what could be done to makes things right. I was told to hand over my domains to them. Wanting to smooth things out i obliged. Asked what else i could do to get my account re-activated. They just stopped answering.

Now i am over it. Just making this thread to warn other people.

The terms you are referring to are retarded. By that logic, any webmaster promoting them could be canned on the spot. Because you can only use their own (LOL?) content on your websites to promote them. I used some photo off the net that didnt have "mr.Skin" stamped on it, and because of that i had my account closed and was robbed of my rebills money.

In reality they canned me because i stopped sending them traffic since they convert like crap, they saw it and didn't want to pay for rebills.

The pay on time until one day they don't.

I just told you what happened. They terminated me for some bullshit dmca report and wouldn't even show it to me. And sure as hell this wasn't in their TOS when i signed up, neither it is now.

If they want to keep your rebills, they will make up a reason to terminate you. Here, their ToS basically say that they can terminate you if they feel like it:

https://www.mrskincash.com/terms

http://i.imgur.com/HTeidP9.png

All i did was promote them for years. Then some magical complain happened that they refuse to show. Then they terminate my account.

Ok, lets assume they don't want me promoting them anymore. But why steal my rebills money?

charlie g 08-03-2016 12:04 AM

well the webmaster is at the mercy of shady program owners and not much you can do aside from shooting your own content and selling it. Not feasible for a one man show. As long as you are sending traffic you could promote snuff content for all they care.

You got that wrong... Actually program owners are at the mercy of shady webmasters.

Also your logic is off, but I will complete your sentence:" ....not much you can do aside from shooting your own content and selling it, so you have to steal it and then sell it to another thief."

please... this industry's history is riddled with shaving programs and program owners that close up shop or simply dont pay. the webmaster is not in control of the money, just the traffic. Most smart program owners generate their own traffic anyway, so they dont care to fuck off an affiliate, especially if there are rebills and not much traffic coming in from that affiliate.

I shoot content and am not a webmaster so I dont have a dog in the fight. I dont care how many affiliates you fuck over, but I can tell by your tone you have little respect for the people trying to peddle your shit.

I have no idea what the op did to have his account terminated. I do know that if he quit sending traffic and there was good amount of rebills, it's probably in the program's best interest to terminate and keep the revenue. I could be wrong because my logic is so flawed. I am sure you will set me straight. Looking forward to reading why I am so wrong.

PS. I know there are tons of great programs that go beyond the reasonable to support affiliates. Not talking about them or mrskin either.

There is no legal side, it was all bullshit to terminate my account and pocket the rebills.

Once they had my domains they just stopped replying. I never received the DMCA copy despite numerous requests. It's been more than 2 weeks now since last correspondence.

without knowing the url it's impossible to know what actually happened here...

but using copyrighted content is no joke... it isn't quite "I'll use whatever I want, then when I get a DMCA notice, I'll take it down"... DMCA only applies in certain pretty narrow cases, it's easiest and cheapest way to get infringing content down, that's why it's most popular...

but when dealing with deep pockets like mr skin, sueing or threatening to sue is 100x better... now mr skin has to pay $750/hr lawyer to prove that DMCA / fair use / etc applies in this case... so no wonder they are a bit displeased...

woj, you got it all wrong.

It was ME who was allegedly using copyrighted content. Not MrSkin.
So if the lawsuit ever came forward it would be ME under fire, not MrSkin.
And the DMCA should have been directed at ME and not MrSkin (like i said, i doubt very much there ever was one).

They even got this covered in their terms, that in any possible event the affiliate takes all blame:

http://i.imgur.com/0vZZKS3.png
https://www.mrskincash.com/terms

Anyway, when I was sending them shitloads of traffic they didn't have any problems. They would say "please remove this" or "please remove that". They only got butthurt to the point of closing the account when I stopped sending them traffic and was getting rebills (which they didn't want to pay).

DVTimes 08-03-2016 06:37 AM

Can people stop jumping to conclusions.

Some have stated MrSkin steals content. Non of us know his deal with the film firms, and I do not think we have the right to ask MrSkin to post hiss business dealings. To be honest its not of any of your business. Promote MrSkin or not, its up to you. I do and I get sales.

Just because you may or may not promote MrSkin does not give you the right to talk about how he does business with film firms.

Lets be honest, IF he was stealing the film firms would have shut him down and sued him for Zillions. Lets put it this was in Leeds a pizza owner many years ago had a pizza joint named after his favorite film. They made him change the name. So if they can find a tiny pizza shop in the middle of no place (and that was before the internet so they were not googling his name) I am more than sure the know about MrSkin.

For all we know MrSkin may pay a licence fee, or its just great publicity for the film firms. But its none of our business.

But as for Vano. I cannot be bothered to read your posts. BUT......

This is a BIG BUT....

If you have misused pics or vids or a domain name from a film star, then to be honest you bloody stupid and no wonder your account on MrSkin was shut. Do you think they are going to risk upsetting film firms are film stars who provide him/his site with content just to keep you happy? Of course not.

If I was running a business and my best mate or a family member was working for me, but I found out they were being a prat and put the business at risk, I would get rid. You just cannot risk things.

Also in your first post you stated it had MrSkin in your domain name!!!!

That's rule 1 of promoting any site is you DO NOT USE there domain name in any way. That alone would get your account shut. If you had done that with playboy, I suspect not only your account shut but you would be sued too.

If I was MrSkin, I would be showing his lawyers your post and see if there were grounds to sue you for slander. If I was you I would think carefully before you post any more about MrSkin.
