Last known VCR maker stops production
Funai stopped the production. What is most interesting - 750.000 units were sold last year alone. Not too shabby for a single company!
Of course, they told, it was also getting harder to source components... Blast from the past, nostalgic :) |

It's time to tell people who still want VCRs to go a suck a dick. Same goes for morons who haven't upgraded to HDTV yet.

WTF is a VCR, I even heard someone today saying they use to get in a box and put coins in it to make a phone call. Weird shit

I can perfectly understand legit reasons for people still needing a VCR - transfering old footage to DVD or external storage drives. We bought one not long ago just for that reason. Slow and tedious, of course. But that was the medium back in the day...like it or not. |

This isn't good news for Paul Markham.
He's only just got over Super 8 film being overtaken by video :helpme |
It would be interesting to know how many firms still use VHS for there security films.
A few years ago a firm got broke into. They looked at the VHS recording and it was blank. When I say blank, it hard worn all the black stuff on the tape away as they had only ever used one tape, over and over and over for years. |
