Has anyone gotten this message in their Google Webmaster Tools message inbox:

"Create AMP pages to be shown in Google Search for http://yourwebsite.com"

Yeah Google's offering to host your mobile pages. Had someone who tried them lose all their traffic because they were outranked by Google for their own content, now it's sorted and his traffic is soaring.

What if your site is responsive design?

Responsive design and AMP is two completely different things - responsive design is layout where no matter what resolution is,you will see content without need to scroll forward. AMP is cache system designed to speed up loading on mobile phones.

Not sure that's right, AMP is just another version of your mobile page hosted by you that Google will serve to mobile users. There are some WP plugins that will generate an AMP version of your site. I didn't like the look of them and would rather have the regular mobile version used. AMP seems to be about speed at the expense of everything else.

I dont see why you would generate special version just for AMP. To convert your site to AMP , all you need to do is to replace html tags with AMP tags and include javascript framework to make it work.
