Here in the USA, a lot of people play at reenacting The Civil War or as we call it The Revolution. Being in costume and fighting old battles.

I noticed a lot of British murder mysteries show here on Public TV, are staged from the Victorian era or right after World War II. Do a lot of people there reenact?

Some days I think more people reenact than actually fought in the real battles.

Yeah, it goes on all over the place. Google "uk battle reenactments 2016" for an idea.

TBH, its not really my cup of tea though, so even if one was happening on my doorstep, I doubt I'd bother with it.

But yeah, its pretty popular - Each to their own etc :)

yeah, I've seen people doing it on the telly but I've never been to an event so I really don't know just how popular it is. unsurprisingly though, I understand that the most re-enacted is our own civil war - personally, I think we'd be better off re-enacting the Zulu campaigns down in hackney.
