What's up with compliance nowadays?

Shooting BDSM means you're probably shooting on the edge or at least exploring the limits of BRAM and visa/mastercard compliance. I had a video here and there removed over the years during "3 month reviews"...

I see a difference between billers when it comes to compliance... I wanted to switch once from epoch to ccbill... Ccbill wanted me to remove 1/3 of my videos before getting through their compliance.

Last year I see sites really pushing the limits even clearly stepping over the limits... but they have payment processing... Things like kidnap-scenario's where girls clearly scream "no", clearly non-consensual, is being processed today.

My question would be: Is there a difference between billers when it comes to compliance?
I think this would be weird because billers Always say they have to quard compliance because of visa/mastercard. In that case all rules apllies the same for everyone! Right? But I experienced clear differences myself regarding different billers... that is just a fact!

When it comes to compliance I guess ccbill is the most prudish of the 3rd billers... after that epoch and the most on edge seems verotel in my view...

The sites that are really stepping over BRAM rules seems mostly to be sites with own merchant accounts. But.. they also are accountable to visa/mastercard... right? Who reviews them?

Could it be that rules and compliance differ based on sales revenu?
Do billers, next to the fact that they have to apply to visa/mastrercard rules, also have their own rules? Which would explain the differences in their compliance...

It all seems a very untransparent world... the world of billing...

CCBill doesn't allow watersports so for that site we bill with Verotel who have no problems with it.

They also pay on time like clockwork (have been working with them on various sites for well over a decade) and are simply a pleasure to work with in every way. Set up is free...tech support to top notch and have never failed to go out of their way to help with the few issues I needed assistance with.

Give them a look see and sign up...you will THANK me later! :thumbsup

Many affiliates seem to have problems to promote if it's not ccbill based (they think ccbill is the only one that pays and they just simply seem to love the ccbill stats and interface:upsidedow)

While I have nothing to do with the 3rd party billing side of CCbill, I use them for affiliate work & they are terrible, IMO.

Their GUI is from the stone age (even after they redesigned it a couple of years back), nothing is intuitive on their site (I constantly have to reach out to find where something is), IMO, & I've had staff scoff at me when I make comments about how the site should be intuitive or it shouldn't take 3-4 steps to get to one bloody area of the site.

It never ceases to amaze me that companies (not just CCBill) who have the WORST coding & design are still in biz after all these years. These are companies that have 15-20 years in the industry.

You would think as things advance & expectations are higher, that they would lose a lot of their clients, but I guess not LOL My shopping cart is like that & I have been wanting to move from them for ions, but haven't been able to. They have never ONCE implemented smart changes that I have suggested. Never fixed issues, they just keep adding features & are way behind the times compared to other SCs.

But they are STILL in biz somehow.

Even signing up for an affiliate on CCBill is THE stupidest process I've EVER seen.

Instead of having one Affiliate ID, they give you a DIFFERENT ID for every single merchant/company you sign up for, so it's very confusing, you can't just sign up easily, & it's a long drawn out process that has stressed me out many a time.

Again, this has nothing to do with the billing side, but I can't imagine it's any better.

The Visa/Mastercard rules are the same for all. Under that, the underwriting departments or banks and us processors vary. While I cannot speak for others, I can tell you that if the bank allows the content and is it not against card association rules, NETbilling will have no problem with it.

Please contact our sales department if you are interested on processing with NETbilling and fell free to post questions here as well.

In my case it's Verorel specifically I won't deal with. I have a long memory. Going back ten years ago or more this board was full of people who billed with Verotel and would have consistent trouble getting their money: unexplained holds and reserves, long payment delays, and mysterious reverses that didn't seem to map to verifiable customer chargebacks. For affiliates it was even worse -- there were issues with international payments, payments would just not come, and they had multiple offerings (ticket systems and such) that program owners could switch to that would convert sales from affilliate traffic without generating payments to affiliates. So for a time Verotel was the first choice for shady affiliate-screwing programs.

I have no idea if any of that is still true. I see verotel, I click away. I wrote them off so long ago I no longer remember the specific screwages that led to the decision.
