I think Black Lives Matters is a reasonable response to the to the gun-happy cowboys who are masquerading as policemen in the US.

I don't accept that it's a racist movement any more that people supporting Save the Dolphin hate whales.

I dont support it but i'm not against it. I do believe it has "some" good points. No one wants police brutality. If this is a test by law enforcement to see how the populace will react you will first act against who is the bottom of the barrel in the class system. If it's sucessful and met with little resistance they will do it to everyone with reckless abondon. So on that front it's good. But like most things good, black people have a magical knack to constantly fuck up a good thing. If blm got its shit together it could do good. But you have people like shawn king who have caused it irrepable harm.

The problem has always been deeper than the police department. it is systemic within these communities themselves. There is more violence and crime involving weapons in specific neighbourhoods so the police have to have guns drawn more readily because of that--which leads to more use unfortunately. Cops get fired upon, get gunned down and it creates both panic and even hatred towards anyone within these neighbourhoods as they are losing friends and family trying to uphold the law there. Race has nothing to do with that, it would be the same no matter who it was. The only way to correct it is to take steps into removing the drug trade from these regions, or at least reduce its concentration. Obviously that is not an easy fix.

But then there are people like most of you here... who see this solely as a black and white issue, feel the need to defend your race as if there is some war going on when it is nothing of the sort. You guys get outraged when black people get angry and hateful but don't realize you are doing the EXACT same thing in return. Step back and look at what is really happening and you may see the actual problem instead of placing blame on a particular group--black, white or cops.

An African American is far likelier to be shot by another African American than a white cop.
