Do you know how paypal works?

I have three pending echecks but here is the difference.

Two are from the same guy and the date it says they will clear are both Sept 6th. That date has passed and they still say pending until the 6th.

I have another echeck that says it will clear on the 6th but yesterday when it didn't clear the date changed to the 7th. Now today it changed to the 8th.

Why do the one echecks stay the same and say pending until the 6th and the other one just changes each day. I have had that happen before and it did clear after a week.

Just wondered what it means and I can't find it anywhere.

Only thing which i know about e-checks how they are often used for scam.

Maybe, they are being redeposited for reason that they came back NSF?

like others have suggested, you are probably getting scammed... :2 cents:

I should have said both echecks are from people I have gotten at least 100 payments from if not 200 by now.
I know it is not a scam. Just wondering why the dates change on one and not the other. Still none have cleared though.

This happens because checks/echecks takes longer to clear. When Paypal tells you "Sept 6th" for checks, it's just an estimate. All kinds of things can slow the process down such as banks, holidays, etc.

The best thing thing to do is to (a) not deliver your product or service until the payment clears, and (b) to contact Paypal to clarify the date.

Good luck!

There is no way they can scam me LOL, my post is nothing about that. Just simple payments from two people that send me money a couple times a week for a long time.
I have two echecks said to clear on the 6th.
Today one of them still says it will clear on the 6th and the other one says it will clear on the 8th. The date keeps changing as the day passes.
Someone told me a reason the one stays the same and that is why I asked to see if matched what I was told.

i had problems with them also and stoped to use them

I received yesterday an "instant payment" that seem fine but doesn't appear in my balance yet. It happens I know the exact sum I had before, usually I wouldn't notice.

I contacted them about it :)

I have not seen anyone pay me with an e-check in years...

I remember years before that having some of my payments out as an e-check, but payments with a pp balance of $0 are all instant now when I send out a payment.

I am guessing they are from some odd country and may have defaulted on instant payments in the past so they're taking extra precautions with them.

As far as the date changing, it could have been due to insufficient funds and they are attempting it a second time.

I think I've never gotten a pending payment through paypal. Also got few echeck payments in the past.

Not sure if this issue may have affected your echecks or account, but I will post this anyway.
-------
On September 7, 2016, PayPal experienced an issue which made it appear that some buyers who paid for an item hadn?t paid. The issue has been identified and addressed by PayPal, however it may take up to 48 hours for previous payments to be processed. For more information, please contact PayPal at 1-888-221-1161.

Sellers: If any of your eBay transactions were affected by this issue and you delayed shipment until payment was verified via PayPal, rest assured that you will be protected. Your transactions will not be counted as shipped late, and your eBay seller performance will not be impacted by a late shipment related to one of these transactions.

Buyers: Some items you purchased on September 7 may have been delayed as a result of this PayPal issue. If so, we ask for your patience and understanding, both in the transaction and when providing feedback after your item arrives.

1. open an account
2. put all your money in.
3. they freeze your account for no 'ex·pli·ca·ble' reason.

wash.rinse.repeat.
