iOS 10 Update

Anyone installed the update yet?

I ordered my iPhone 7 Plus and have decided to lose my Jailbreak to check out the new iOS 10 update before my new phone arrives.

gnawledge 09-13-2016 10:46 AM

I like it. I had it using it on BETA. It's pretty good. I've been jail breaking since 3G model. I don't trust it anymore. When Saurik had control; I did.

yuu.design 09-13-2016 01:04 PM

not yet, i think ill wait a bit more

trevesty 09-13-2016 01:06 PM

I'm getting the 7 on Friday so probably just wait until then.

That's my feeling too. The only tweak I really use is Activator and I don't even need that...for the most part.

Apple has been good about adding popular tweaks to iOS. At this point, most of the good ones have been incorporated.

I'm finally installing now. It took overnight to download the update.

Always do so.

Why's that? It's been in open Beta for months.

Coup 09-14-2016 06:16 AM

Mine is still there, even though I've not once plugged headphones into it, over the past 4 iPhones at least. :1orglaugh

FuckMarcus 09-14-2016 07:23 AM

My headphones didn't disappear but they did stop working. Now I have to walk around with the phone to my ear.

Every update with iOS and macOS seems riddled with issues. A few days later they clean things up. I'm going to wait on my phones a few more days.

My Mac, I will be waiting to update that for a few months. Updating last year rendered most of my audio equipment useless for 4 months due to driver issues.

I did the upgrade to IOS10 this morning with my iPhone 5. So far, so good, no problems at all. I like the changes.

TheDynasty 09-14-2016 10:10 AM

I has been using it from beta and it's great. You wont see huge changes anyway but it's nice.

:thumbsup

Just downloaded it to my 6 since have a 7 Plus coming soon.

snggns 09-14-2016 11:54 PM

I liked the new button knocking!

JerseyPuma 09-15-2016 07:04 AM

its been the best IOS so far for me. i have an iphone SE, really didnt like the bigger phones starting with the 6. the biggest thing is how CRAZY fast this new OS is. very very noticable getting into and out of apps, moving around the home screen and inside folders, etc.

I've been on 9.0.3 for the past year. It's way different and I'm still getting used to the changes.

Some over the air updates did. Pretty sure it's been addressed with an update. I installed version 10.0.1

I haven't had any of those issues. Ever. With the last OSX update, I was able to update my Hackintosh the same exact day the OS launched...stable as can be.

Ok RocHard. ;-)

I have a lot of audio equipment. It took most of the audio companies months to get everything integrated with the new drivers. I updated my Mac when the release came out, everything worked fine, except anything related to my audio drivers. Update was in October, was not able to use my audio equipment until late January. Was terrible.

Hardware issues suck. I feel I've been lucky so far. Knock on wood!

Apple has gone gay at the periphery

Sid70 09-15-2016 12:35 PM

Is it safe to update already?

Update through iTunes, that's the safest bet.

yes, there were some reports that people that did the upgrade directly from phone didn't work out but Apple says that it's been taken care of but also says that upgrade using iTunes is the safest way...

Downloaded it through itunes last night took maybe 20-25 minutes. No problems with it all day today. :2 cents:

ExtremeBank_Adam 09-15-2016 08:01 PM

It bricked my phone (6S+) yesterday when I did an over the air update. But I had an iCloud backup and was able to restore it using iTunes. I ordered the 7+, but it says it won't be shipped until next week.

It worked for me, but it wouldn't hurt to do a backup first just to be sure. And download through iTunes like Candyflip suggested. For me anyway, this seems faster.

Trying to make it via iTunes, it's asking for a new version to be downloaded and then fails installing it... dafuck?
