Music to code by. What do you listen to and how loud do you listen?

I have speakers amps and sub-woofers everywhere, and I play everything fucking, freaking LOUD. It really helps me concentrate and I don't know why.

I'm listening to this:

What are you listening to?

CurrentlySober 09-15-2016 09:56 AM

I must be the only guy in the world that loves absolute silence when I'm working.

Relic 09-15-2016 10:28 AM

It's programming not coding op.

I usually listen to everything on a set of Beyerdynamic DT-770 PRO headphones.

https://www.storedj.com.au/products/BEY-DT770PRO

Not so loud as to deafen myself, these headphones give you a really good solid sound even at low volume.

This track is amazing through the Beyerdynamics

However never listen to good music from Youtube, the audio sucks.

I'm ashamed to say that these days I'm finding a few of the mainstream songs quite catchy, I must have Alzheimer's or something

Great stuff to code by right here, and pretty consistent.

Tom Scholz made this demo album in his makeshift home studio in the early 70s. He tried his damnedest to make guitars sound as blistering as technologically possible, and didn't have a record company telling him to hold back on anything. Think of it as a raw "director's cut" of Boston's debut album.

Everyone in our office codes in silence, no music just the clattering of mechanical keyboards.

If I'm making something good and new, or adding to code, I listen to my "building" playlist, below are the first two songs on that playlist, they help center me and get all my resources together that I'll need to get stuff done. As I really focus and get going I usually turn the music down a few songs in.

If I'm doing the opposite of above, the first two songs on that playlist are below.

If I can see the results from the above code right away ( not often I can ) I'll get high and sometimes have a strong drink too, and listen to my victory song below.

If I'm trying to brainstorm ( like right now ) I'll get very high on a Sativa or Sativa hybrid, no alcohol at all, burn some Sai Baba Nag Champa incense and start off with these two songs on my "creating" playlist

Usually some 90's or early 2000's hard rock or metal on Pandora. Sometimes classical. Sometimes the new classical like Lindsey Sterling or whatever you call the kind of music she plays. Sometimes Celtic music.

None of it very loud. Just enough to drown out the constant ringing in my ears from tinnitus when it's dead silent.

Adnium_Ivana 10-26-2016 06:12 AM

Morning y'all. I see some good music tastes here. We might disagree from time to time, however when it comes to music, GFY has excellent taste. I've found my soundtrack for the rest of the day :thumbsup
