Carpet, tiles or hardwood?

How do you like your floors?

I'm renovating and going hardwood, I heard carpeting brings down the value of the house.

A lot of maintenance with hardwood .I love it but too much work. I'd rather replace carpet

I just did my whole house. Got ceramic tile that looks just like wood, even has a texture that feels like wood. And carpet, really high quality stuff with a memory foam pad in the master bedroom, family and living room are carpeted with tile borders. Stairs are carpeted on the step tops only, but upstairs hallway and two of the bedrooms are fully carpeted, while the third upstairs bedroom is actual hardwood. So my house has maybe 60/40 tile to carpet ratio. Carpet alone was $10k.

Master bathroom floor is heated under the tile. It's cheap to do if you're ripping up the existing flooring anyway, it only added about $1100 to the cost.

Our entire downstairs is Italian title, love it. Upstairs all carpeting.

I've never liked wood floors.

If its wood you are going to get make sure its solid and not laminated.

Carpet's disgusting, mites in the underlay & dirt trapped in the fibres.

Wood can be damaged and a fire hazzard.

A tiled floor with under floor heating, maybe a few rugs around the comfy areas, in front of couch etc.

Marble, Ceramic, Travertine, Porcelain, Fauxwood, Slate, Granite, Pebbles, Quartzite & Onyx...

Huge variety of looks & quality!

Before we run our production company, we run a tiling company from 2000 to 2006, Gary trained as a ceramic tiler in London back in 1996 :2 cents:
