Article on crocodile/reactive brain thinking to increase your business

Modern humans for the most part are nothing but slightly evolved cave people and you can have great success in relationships and business if you simply spend a few moments understanding the brain and how it works.

I agree with much of this article but strongly disagree on the recommendation about closing the deal. If someone is trying to sell to me or close a deal and says the following I would kick that fuck out of my office and tell them to suck my fucking dick if they want my business: ?We?ve got a lot of new business coming in, so I want to be sure that I can get you in. If you think there?s a fit here, let me know by Friday of next week because that?s when we?ll have our project schedule complete for the next few months.?

I ask for the sale am very direct about it. I tell them "I am excited to move forward with my ideas for your company however I rarely take on new customers and if they are going to do business with me that now is the opportune moment before I move on to another client. I say thinking about it for a day or two is fine as that is what some of my clients do but I would like your answer by Tuesday. Is that fair?"

This post reminded me of Oren Klaff's book Pitch Anything.

Also the whole Alpha/Beta thing works when getting pulled over by police. I NEVER call them "sir" or "officer" or anything. Just talk to them like you are a fellow cop or that you know them. Do not disrespect them but do not let them feel like you see them as an authority figure. I never have my licence and registration ready for the cop. NEVER. Make them ask for it.
