Open registration names will sell at the registrar's registration price $25 to $35 /year.

I doubt new gTLD will help rankings but I would stick with dot com. The worst thing about .cam is that people wont know about it so if you say .cam people will think you mean .com and there's your traffic leak right there.

Even on the screen, I can see scope for confusion there.

You can reg .webcam at namecheap for 88c and both privatecam.webcam and nakedcam.webcam are available so those are a hard flip, I'd develop them if I were you, no one will buy them.
