It seems there is not a single person who likes zucchini :)

A relative came, brought up like 10 zucchinis and few pumpkins (owns a farm).
I am not a big fan of those, tried to give some up to friends, fun fact - every single one said that they do not like zucchinis as well.

It seems like it is the most not liked vegetable of all :)

Anyone likes them?

And now I need some good recipes :winkwink:

Sly 10-25-2016 02:09 PM

I like them.

Worst-case scenario, make zucchini bread.

Spunky 10-25-2016 02:10 PM

I like them.although I eat everything

I also kind of like them, but in a way that I am definitely not excited about eating them. Meaning that they won't hit my top 10 favorite vegetables list for sure :)

Of course, a good recipe would very likely change that. :)

Ps: any real difference between pumpkin and zucchini for you?

escorpio 10-25-2016 02:49 PM

Breaded, deep fried and dipped in ranch dressing.

I am used to doing this with pattypan squash :thumbsup
Somehow never thought of trying it with zucchini.

Aleksandra BongaCash 10-25-2016 03:17 PM

I like them☺ zucchini with cheese in oven

altmman 10-25-2016 03:29 PM

Grew up on them and love them. 2 biggest ways I eat it:

1. Egg sandwich: Slice it thin, saute it in a pan with lots of onions and some garlic. Maybe some ham if you want.
add eggs and parm cheese at the end and scramble it up.
Put it on some soft italian bread
wonderful egg sandwich

2. With spaghetti: Slice it thin, saute it until its crispy with onions and garlic, service it with spaghetti, butter and parm cheese.

Sounds great. Recommend couple more recipes, but those where zucchini or pumpkin is a main ingredient, as you see I have a lot of them and slicing them like that is not going to cut it. Need recipes where you use lots of it :1orglaugh

I don't like it but I'll eat it.

Zucchini for the win

MiamiBoyz 10-25-2016 04:03 PM

Fags like them because they are shaped like cocks and they can fuck themselves with them instead of eating the fucking things.

BlackCrayon 10-25-2016 04:27 PM

zucchini bread, muffins, used as a topping on pizza, sauted with some oil olive makes for a good side vegtable along with some peppers, bread them and make zucchini sticks, etc.

TheDynasty 10-25-2016 04:36 PM

Zucchini rocks!

Google Expert 10-25-2016 04:49 PM

Just did a quick dish for a test, something like that:

Zucchini, egg, flour, salt, pepper.

Served with sour cream.

Not bad for a test spin.

Ps: I just tried and realized you can eat zucchini fresh as well, pretty good as well... :)

mineistaken 10-25-2016 05:09 PM

What I have now is:

Dark green zucchini (the typical, most known one)
Very light green
Yellow.
Orange.

I take it all of them are similar?

Ps:After reading the internet I am not even sure if all 4 can be called zucchinis (and not just squash).
You learn something every day :)

Same family with a lot of crossover, I like the dark green.

I like them when small especially the yellow ones, either on the BBQ for dinner, or pan fry with olive oil and put in an omelet.

When they get big I make chocolate/Pineapple/zuccini muffins or zuccini bread.

Jane BongaCash 10-26-2016 05:45 AM

ah, I really like them :D
try to add in zucchini-pancakes parmesan and herbs :thumbsup

This. :thumbsup

Manfap 10-26-2016 06:14 AM

soups, both of them go great in soups.

leeks, potatoes, salt pepper zucchini cook in a bit of butter and then add water or stock.
cooks slowly until all soft.

Blend and add cream...

Pumpkins.

Onion, red lentils, garlic, pumpkin, salt, pepper. cook in a bit of butter and then add water or stock.
cooks slowly until all soft.

blend, the pumpkin makes it creamy.

Adnium_Ivana 10-26-2016 06:19 AM

I only like them in thin spaghetti like strips..anything else disgusts me. I think it's probably due to the fact I had to eat zucchini a lot when I was a kid...

Paul_BongaCash 10-26-2016 08:37 AM

they are good when roasted with garlic :thumbsup

MakeMeGrrrrowl 10-26-2016 09:25 AM

Crazy. So much you can do with zucchini. I love it, and it's the easiest veggie to grow! I always end up giving lots away with just SIX plants each year.

Zucchini bread, boats, fried, sauteed, baked, chips, pasta I mean it's endless!

Paul&John 10-27-2016 06:01 AM

Like it.. making soup out of it or cheese sauce for spaghetti

CDSmith 10-27-2016 10:56 AM

I get a zucchini every now and again, cut it crosswise into slabs and fry it up in butter, sprinkled with black pepper and seasoning salt.

Damn good eatin.

Hannes 10-27-2016 10:58 AM

yuck lol

PR_Glen 10-27-2016 11:12 AM

i will ribbon them out and use it instead of pasta. It goes perfect with most italian sauces. You can buy gadgets that will shape them into noodles but you could always just chop them up coarse and cook them up that way. let it simmer on low in the sauce so it takes in the flavour maybe a splash of wine at the end. They will work in a stir fry as well.

pumkin is a bit more of a complex flavour, the only thing i have ever liked with that stuff are the desserts but usually they require a lot of sugar. pumpkin pie, or tarts for example.

mikesouth 10-27-2016 03:22 PM

love them grilled just till warm with lemon and soy and blackpepper dont overcook...leave it crispy....goes great with chicken, shrimp, pasta

mineistaken 10-27-2016 05:31 PM

It seems like absolute majority of GFY loves them (unless those who dislike them avoided posting).
Pretty surprising, I was hoping for no more than 50/50 in favor :)

Good to know :)

Seth Manson 10-27-2016 05:41 PM

My grandmother used to make almost exactly this same recipe... was the best thing ever. Almost like a very moist carrot cake.

yeah but as someone already said, it depends what you do with these things right? I really don't like cauliflower on its own but it is surprisingly versatile. I can use it as a mashed potato substitute, pasta substitute, rice substitute (use a cheese grate and simmer it up in broth and it makes a half decent 'risotto' that isn't so starchy) I've even made it into a toast substitute--Although I don't recommend that to anyone, the process is too time consuming unless you have a dehydrator at home anyway.
