Good Bye To Amerinoc - 16 Years Are Over

After spending 16 years with Phatserver / Amerinoc we have finally and successfully moved to NationalNet.

Consistent down time, lack of support, no response from support when needed, no respect to their customer paying healthy amount every month and cancellation of back service with no notification and left every one in the middle of no where.

We are now with NationalNet and hope to be in good hands where support are available 24/7 and quality techs and good guys.

-------------

After changing the DNS 2finally got a response from Matt Drewcon (xsmatt) after 3 month. He said " I’m still limited on what I can openly discuss about them and the sale of Amerinoc. I was restricted, under contract. Trust me, I wasn’t happy with how many things ended up after the sale and the DC migration, sad to see some of the changes they made but out of my control. It wasn’t personal, I was under contract with them and was not allowed to engage in contact or direct solicitation, non-compete."

-------------

How many time we tried to contact Matt but once we moved and swtich DNS he contacted us.

Personally spending 16 years with Amerinoc, it was pleasure dealing with Matt, Chris Eastman and Mike Wessen but what they did with every one is totally bad and unacceptable.

Amerinoc is past and future is NationalNet for us.....

It sucks, great you have found a new safer place.

Americon went from being one of the best hostingds to being one of the worst.

klinton 10-29-2016 09:30 AM

be glad that you could move out without hassles.
imagine being forced out to move out, without your files, as all files were lost on one of their servers.

"sorry sir, we dont have your files and data, and what you will do about it? " - sees to be their answer.

a host without backup solution is something unimaginable for me.

AllAboutCams 10-29-2016 09:56 AM

I fucking hate Amerinoc and glad i moved. The guys over at wiredtree have been perfect I wish i moved years ago.

Literally unimaginable to me, so I do not even believe they do not have backups :)

Good luck with the new host.

Thing is, people should have moved a long time ago.

I made the same move a few years ago from Amerinoc to National Net and so glad I did.

I haven't had any problems in years, National Net support is wonderful.

It better be - clients pay lots of money for it.

I left them many years ago. The story was the same back then.

Overpriced meme hosts. Natnet, mojohost, etc.

There are great hosting companies out there for much cheaper. Like Liquidweb, hivelocity.

Got myself a box the other day at hivelocity.com, it took 20 mins to get it fully up and running.

nico-t 10-30-2016 01:43 AM

there are more hosts out there than the handful everyone seems to be on around here. I used to be on mojo as well, very good host with no problems at all but for better specs and literally half the price i moved to a company here in NL :) also never any problems

klinton 10-30-2016 02:06 AM

I paid amerinoc upfront for next year, day or two before that disaster happened.... they refunded me money yesterday:winkwink::winkwink:

MoJo is good host but there server spec low compare to some other provider. Before choosing NationalNet got good friendly meeting with MojoHost but hardware spec is very different what NationalNet has offered. Every host is a good host until and unless they provide,

Reliable Hardware
24/7 Support - Email & Phone
100% up time
Competitive Price
Relationship Manager who look after you when needed.

National Net is top notch.

I had an issue with Wordpress the other day. Not only they did they fix it, but they also updated all of my plugins.

Do they publish new content for you as well?

Shoplifter 10-30-2016 11:39 AM

Yep it was a good time dealing with Amerinoc for all those years. Their passing was a wake up call after many other wake up calls...

It took me a solid month to get everything moved off. Dozens of sites and different environments.

EddyTheDog 10-30-2016 12:09 PM

It's amazing how different hosts are - I had an old server with Sly at VACARES that I just used for messing around and dev stuff - I told him to drop it and don't bother backing it up - He insisted on backing it up in case I realised there was something I would regret losing later - Full backup including OS!..

What a great Monday. My Falcons won, my Fantasy Football team won, the Cubs might end up making the World Series a little more interesting....and a little birdie sends me a message to come check out GFY where we are getting a little love. At least for today, all is well with the world. I generally stay out of threads that mention our competitors, whether it is good or bad but I felt like I should at least say THANKS!

For our new customers, THANKS and welcome to the NationalNet Family. I promise we will work hard every day to keep your business. For those that have been with us for years, thanks to you, too! I probably do not get a chance to say it enough, but you guys are the reason that we can provide the service that we do for the new customers, too.

For those that are not customers, let me say that there are many options for hosting. Some of them are cheaper than us, some are most expensive than us. There have been some other terrific hosts mentioned in this thread so I would never say that we are the only option. I can only say that it is important to compare and find what is best for you and your business. I learned a long time ago that in the world of hosting one size does not fit all. My only hope is that we continue to exceed our customers expectations at every chance we are given.

Thanks, again, everyone. If I can ever do anything for you please do not hesitate call on me.

Does NationalNet have VPS? I see mojo has them starting at $75 a month.

Sorry but we do not have any kind of shared or VPS plans. We just made a decision many years ago to only do full servers. It probably costs us some business, but for us I think it helps us to concentrate on doing less things but trying our best to do them well.

Thanks for asking, though!
